Mag-Modding and Tuning Links
The following list contains links to sites that cover magging and
modding of some big-round bait casters. You can use them to get
ideas, parts information, examples and magger experience in making
the modifications. Reference to sites offering parta for sale is not an
endorsement of that site (since I have not used them), and are only
provided for examples. All links were working at the time of this
article, and I’m not associated with any of them.

Google Search Tips: You can search the web with Google to find mag-mods sites.
However, the search terms you use may not always yield what you were looking for.
So, here are some tips that may help:
Use search terms like ‘adding abu magnets’, ‘adding penn magnetic braking’
and, ‘adding reel magnets’. (Type in just the words and not the quotation
marks.)
If you are looking for a specific model reel, you can include the model number
to get more specific results.
Adding the word ‘forum’ to the front of search terms will get you too many
forum websites.
Including the word ‘parts’ to the front of other search terms can give you to a
few more links for parts and ideas; unfortunately it may also give you links to
other reels not used for fishing.
Sites that sell magnets are too easy to find; and you’ll end up with everything
from kitchen magnets to 1 ton monster magnets if you get too general. You
can narrow the search by using terms like ‘rare-earth magnets’, ‘button
magnets’, ‘button surplus magnets’, ‘hobby magnets’, ‘nib magnets’ and
‘smco magnets’.
