Procedure for Age Dispensation
This document is intended to be an aid to the process outlined in the competition rules.
1) Obtain an application form
Obtain the Age Dispensation form from the SJRU Website at www.juniors.rugbynet.com.au
under Resources, or from the SJRU Administrator.
A US growth chart can also be accessed on the SJRU Website under Resources. This is only to
be used as an unofficial reference. Consideration will be made by the physician on a medical
basis determined by that physician.
2) Fill in the form.
3) Organise appointment with Doctor
Two doctors are appointed for each Zone to handle age dispensations. The Zone doctors are
below:

Ring the Doctor to make an appointment to be assessed. Ensure when you ring that you advise
the receptionist that you wish to make an appointment for a Junior Rugby Age Dispensation.
Ask the receptionist while on the telephone whether the consultation is free of charge or will be
bulk billed (free, Medicare card/number required).
After consultation, the doctor will either contact the Zone directly or provide a sealed envelope
regarding the outcome of the consultation.

4) Submit application
Submit Age Dispensation form, with the Doctor’s recommendation (if it has been given to you)
to your club to be forwarded on to the Zone for final appraisal.
5) Consideration and notification
The Zone Committee will consider the application and decide if age dispensation is to be grated.
Individual players will not be contacted; the Zone will publish the list of players successful and
unsuccessful in obtaining Age Dispensation via email.
The Zone decision on Age Dispensation is final.
Age dispensation will not be granted after Round 5, except in extenuating circumstances.
6) Update Photo ID
Players granted Age Dispensation must note the fact on their Photo-ID card.
