President’s Message
This past month we held our Technical luncheon
meeting at the Hangar 5 conference room. Brett
Barnhart, a very successful engineer with Cummins Chapter Competition
Inc., gave an interesting presentation regarding the Our chapter is currently in 2nd place in the Stevenson

The new South Central Indiana IMA website is now up and running (finally!). Please

IMA's 8th Annual Student Leadership Conference
STUDENTS .......... FACULTY
Hold the Date - November 8 - 10
The Louisville Chapter and the Lincoln Trail Regional Council will be hosting IMA's 8th Annual
Student Leadership Conference at the Marriott Louisville Downtown Hotel from Thursday,
November 8 through November 10. Last year's conference in Cleveland had over 350 registrants
from 26 states and 70 colleges and universities. It is a fun and educational event. Mark the date on
your calendar now. Specific details will follow.
CPE and FMN Opportunities
Earn one (1) CPE hour each month by attending the monthly 2006-2007 technical
luncheons. All IMA Technical luncheons are at 11:45 AM – 1:00 PM. See IMA
Technical Luncheon section for dates.
FMN Sessions held monthly from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Earn up to four (4) CPE
credits monthly by attending. The sessions are held at the Cummins Inc., at the
Corporate Office Building, conference room 201, in Columbus. Steve Seslar is the

GIRLS MRL U14 TOURNAMENT COMES TO COLUMBUS THIS WEEKEND!
Columbus is once again hosting this prestigious tournament that brings many visitors to our community.
Volunteers are needed this Saturday and Sunday, April 28 and 29, to help collect Score Line cards,
money to pay the referees, and greet the many visitors and answer their questions about our community.
Volunteer shifts are 8am-1pm or 3pm-6pm on Saturday or 8am-11am on Sunday. To offer your help,

SUMMER IS COMING AND KIDS WILL BE AT HOME FOR BREAKFAST AND
LUNCH…..HELP MAKE SURE THE FOOD PANTRIES ARE WELL STOCKED!
Columbus Postal Delivery Staff will sponsor their annual Food Drive on May 12. Postal Carriers
will pick up over 20,000 pounds of food donated by individuals from delivery routes on that Saturday.
The Post Office is asking for the help of 15-20 volunteers from 2:00-6:00 PM, May 12 to help sort, box,
and deliver the food to Love Chapel, Human Services, and Salvation Army food pantries. Volunteers
should report to the back of the Post Office at 2 PM. For more information or to sign up to volunteer,
contact Leora Campbell at 587-5622. Please leave a message if needed.

FIRST CALL FOR HELP 211 HOSTS THEIR 3RD ANNUAL LUAU MAY 18TH!
First Call for Help 211, the community’s 24 hour Information and Referral Helpline, maintains and
provides comprehensive information on the vast amount of resources available to Bartholomew County
residents. The luau is FCFH 211’s largest fundraiser of the year. Volunteers are needed on May 18,
between the hours of 8 am-1pm to help with decorating and set up, selling tickets, supervising the silent
auction table, Master of Ceremonies for the Hula Contest, Cake Walk, Limbo Contest, and Tropical
Fashion Show, and tear down and clean up. Call Anne Dolan at 375-2204 if you have some time to give
to this fun event!
CELEBRATE THE FUN OF READING! SUPPORT THE BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY
LITERACY FESTIVAL ON MAY 19!
The Bartholomew County Literacy Task Force will sponsor the second annual Literacy Festival on
May 19 on the Bartholomew County Public Library Plaza. Celebrate the fun of reading by volunteering
to help with children’s games, hand out balloons, bookmarks, and books to the children, and help with
door prizes or the book sale during the festival from 11:30 am-1:30 pm or from 1-3 pm! If those time
don’t work, volunteers are also needed to help set-up from 9-11 am and tear down from 3-4:30 pm. If

We appreciate everyone confirming their attendance to the monthly IMA Technical luncheons
held on Thursdays.
If you have schedule changes, please reverse your RSVP to Dee Willett by Tuesday, 9:00 AM
(same week of luncheon). If no reversal of your RSVP, Cummins Inc. will be charged the lunch
fee for Cummins employees only.
Sometimes emergencies do change our plans. However, if you know in advance that you cannot
attend, please notify Dee. Since we pay for meals based on RSVPs, the IMA Board appreciates
everyone’s cooperation on RSVPs as it helps the chapter control its costs.
