Vision "Reading Lab" Workshop

This workshop is the first of two cadre meetings for the 08-09 school year. It is a follow-
up to our January Winter Institute; designed for Middle and High School Reading Lab
teachers, literacy coaches, special education teachers, regular education teachers, and
administrators.
The purpose of this training is to prepare teachers, schedules and classrooms to begin
their reading lab on the first day of school.
We will prepare by:
1. Choosing instructional materials
2. Choosing assessment materials
3. Preparing to individualize instruction
4. Choosing literacy strategies to incorporate in to your program as supplemental support
5. Choosing a model for instruction
Credit Hours: 6
Leadership Hours: 6
Cost: no charge
Only coffee will be provided. Any other snacks and beverages will be on your own. Lunch
is on your own.
Participants who pre-register for any event sponsored by the West Kentucky Educational
Cooperative or the West Kentucky Instructional Improvement Cadre must notify the event
coordinator, or the Executive Director of the West Kentucky Education Cooperative, by email,
personal contact, or telephone conversation, forty-eight (48) hours in advance of the scheduled
event in order to obtain a refund, or defray district billing for the advertised participant cost.
Pre-registered participants who experience an emergency, over which the individual has no
control, that prevents cancellation within the forty-eight hour window may receive a refund upon
written, and signed, verification of the emergency by the governing district superintendent.
