Rules changes to Star Wars Saga Edition
1) The restrictions on skill focus Use the Force no longer exist.
2) Keep the 2 bonus talents at first level. The 2 bounus talents are only at 1st level character and all heroic classes get them

3) Dark times: No Jedi At first level but Dm should allow Jedi after first. You can have force using talents at fist level. Ie Steve should give the
opportunity to learn and become Jedi.
4) For every 2 levels you can gain one knowledge that you can roll a knowledge check for and obtain a result as if you were trained. You do not get the +5
skill training bonus. Reason knowledges keep increasing as you level at 1 per 2 levels. There is noting to indicate learing as you level from
adventuring.
5) Resist the Force is a new wisdom based skill. All Use the Force checks that effect an enemy must equal or exceed that enemies Resist the Force check,
as well as meeting published requirements. To take skill focus Resist the Force you must have the feat force sensitivity. Resist the force is a class skill
for all classes. There can be no rerolls of Resist the Force, either the force is with you of it isn’t. You cannot take a 10 or a 20 with resist the force. Use
the Force is now an opposed skill check. Racial bonuses, feats that give bonues, talents with bonuses against the force all add to Resist the Force vs
appropriate type of attacks, ie. Mental resistance +5 does not add to resistance vs physical attacks. Reason 4th level pc vs 12th sith apprentice. Sith
apprentice has 28 will save ( 10+12+2 class+4 , wisdom) . Intrepid pc wins initiative and uses move object vs Sith. PC has sf utf . giving 5+5+2 stat+ 2
level=+14 utf. Under current rules pc wins on a 13+guarenteed with a force point and has a chance to win a probably with the combat on a roll of 8 with
a force point. This is worse with force grip.
6) All classes are +1 trained skill at first level. Reason new skill resist the force.
7) Gather Information is a class skill for Scouts. Reason gather info is what scouts do.
8) Mechanics and other things that let you build things . You cannot build equipment as players; you can only modify existing equipment. Reason if PCs
can build equiptment this can be easily abused.
9) Perception actively looking or listening for concealed enemies is a move action, not a standard action. As a full round action you can look for
concealed enemies with a +2 bonus. Reason this allows you to shoot the sneaky person if you see them.
10) Persuasion, Intimidate this has to pass resist the force as an opposed check. This is as powerful as force powers and the same reasoning applies. Also
you will only flee from your opponent for one round unless you are attacked in which case this does not work.
11) Pilot is an intelligence based skill not dexterity. Reason These are space shuttles that fly by wire not biplanes.
12) Every class gets Use Computer as a class skill at 1st level unless you are a primitive race. Reason everyone today canuse a computer to some extent
13) Use the Force Sense surroundings there will now be a uft dependant range on this skill use. 15 is 6 squares with an addition 6 squares for every 5 above
15 you succeed by. Dc 20=12, 25=18, 30=24,etc . Additionally the dc vs against droids, Uzon Vong droids, orther nonliving is 15 higher. Reason This
is one of the very few detection type skills that is not ranged dependant. Living creature have the force.
14) Force Sensitivity grants skill training in Use the Force. Reason its just silly not to have this. This also allows non jedi force user more easily by saving
a feat.
15) No main character can be a droid. Reason Droids are broken and should be support characters.
16) Small characters gain no bonuses for their small size. They gain racial bonuses, but do not gain stealth or reflex bonuses do to their size. Reason small
size can be used to make an undetectable character and one that is extremely had to hit. If you feel you must play a small race fine, just don’t expect
bennies for being small.
17) New feat Jet Pack proficiency. To use a jet pack you must have Jet pack proficiency or the talent Jet Pack Training. Jet Pack proficiency has the exact
same text and meets fulfills the same prerequisites as Jet Pack Training. Reason jet packs are fun but can be abused, this gives then a cost to be able to
be used.
18) Players must have a great back story to be trained in an alternate force using tradition. Players can find alternate traditions in their travels. No Aing-tii
monk traditions, unless found. Reason to prevent abuse
19) Certain talents allow you to damage your target if you miss with an attack. If you miss, you miss you do not damage your target. Reason to prevent
abuse
20) Hammer Blow talent cannot use any strength multiplying equipment, it is just base strength. You cannot use any equipment with this talent, no brass
knuckles, no shock boxing gloves, no gauntlets, no gloves etc. Reason to prevent excessive abuse
21) Tech Specialist feat. The items being worked on must be higher tech, not basic tech like combat gloves or brass knuckles. Reason to prevent abuse
22) Force Grip power is a dark side power. Reason This is a broken power that just damages people. It is the personification of dark side.
23) Cloak power gives no pluses to hide Reason cloak is very powerful. This allows you a chance to spot a cloaked opponent.
