Newsletter from Home-Start WeyWater

Date: July 2011 Issue no. 25

Hi everyone

Our new co-ordinator, Diana as now been with Home-Start for over two months and during that time she has really

enjoyed getting to know so many of you. Since joining Diana’s and Angela’s working days have changed and

details of their new days are detailed at the bottom of the page.

We have lots of great activities planned over the summer holiday; please may we remind you to let the office know

if you and your families will be coming along to any of the activities where booking is required – thank you!

At the end of June the Chase Children’s Centre’s beautiful garden was officially opened by Mayor Adam Carew. Despite the rainy weather

many turned out and had a lovely afternoon at the centre. If you are visiting please take some time to visit the garden as all the SureStart

staff has done a great job creating a very colourful and tranquil area for all to enjoy. IF you have green fingers and some spare time, the

centre would welcome any help offered with the up-keep of the garden and maintaining this lovely area.

On the subject of Chase Children’s Centre, they have also put out a plea for a volunteer to help run a crèche at the centre on Friday

afternoons, between 1.30-3pm. If you are interested in helping at the centre please let us know and we will pass your details on to

SureStart.

We will be running another preparation course from September so if you know of anyone who would like to get involved with Home-Start

please pass our details on to them or let the office know and we will arrange for a Volunteer Information pack to be sent out to them.

A few weeks ago, one of our volunteers, Nicky Preston ran a successful Tai Chi taster session which all participants thoroughly enjoyed.

Nicky is very happy to run a course at the centre and we would love to hear from you if you would be interested in attending.

On a final note, we have not only been busy moving furniture around the office! But there has also

been a change to staff working days. Diana will now be working Monday, Thursday and Friday and

Ang will be working Monday-Thursday. Sally and Emma’s days remain the same and the office is

contactable Monday – Friday 9am-5pm. Have a great summer and we all look forward to seeing

you at one or more of our summer days out.

Ang, Diana, Sally and Emma

Summer Days Out

In last month’s newsletter we listed all of our summer events and a

few others that we thought you may be interested in. Just a small

change to the dates for you to take note of, the Mum & Tots Teddy

Bear Picnic will now be on the 19th August, 12-2pm and not the 16th

as stated.

At the Summer Fun Day on the 4th August, which is being held at Jardinique, in keeping with

the surrounding farm area we would absolutely love all the children to come

along dressed in their best farm wear! Whether they choose to be a farmer or

one of the farm animals it will be great fun dressing up. Our administrator,

Emma will be equipped with face paints at the ready to help finish the look!
