Guidelines for Garbage/Recycling Bins Outdoor Barriers
As per Community Rule #1 garbage and recycling bins can be stored
outside only if they are contained within a pre-approved enclosure.
The Board Architectural Committee has been specified as the body
responsible for this approval and therefore posts this set of guidelines
to assist the homeowner and this committee in making this process as
quick and painless as possible.
1) The following guidelines should be considered as uncontestable
as the current committee members will not approve any plans
that do not comply:
a. Submittals must be accompanied with a completed and
signed Architectural Request Form and supporting
documentation as indicated on the form. (Forms can be
downloaded from the SAGHA Website www.sagha.org, or
obtained from SAGHA B.O.D. or committee members.
b. Barriers or enclosures can be landscaping, approved
barriers or a combination of both.
c. If landscaping is used it must be of sufficient size, and
must be evergreen or from the evergreen family, so that it
will act as barrier in ALL seasons, including winter months.
2) Additional guidelines:
a. Garbage/Recycling bins be set on concrete, brick, gravel,
or other stone base to assist in proper drainage
b. Recommend the base to be 4 ft by 6 ft in area
c. Artificial barrier should be neutral color
d. Commercially available barriers can be found at most
home improvement stores and on internet websites such
as: www.improvementscatalog.com
