Scriptor, you have two modes of composition of Web pages. The first mode identifies each component of the page

(table, text, image, etc.) and allows individual treatment of each object. This mode of composition is necessary for

the deployment of large-scale sites or for the establishment of a Portal: it meets more sophisticated webmasters

or graphic designers who need to deploy a site with an architecture impressive all-in-now the uniformity of the

graphical components. These Web authors will then use gladly techniques as file merging or repeated images

stored in a data view.

The other mode of composition uses a friendly editor that greatly simplifies the task of users by offering such-as (a

"Wysiwyg " Editor) editor. The Publisher then acts as a small module similar to those of major word processors

available on the market at any point data processing. This editor can be activated for each insertion point. One

vendor could control a fit, but a standard table could also involve several publishers, in each of its cells for

example. This approach increases however the process of entering and it will prefer to use mode standard instead

of enable multiple publishers simultaneously in a page composition.

2

"WYSIWYG", literally: "What You See Is What You Get". This term refers to an editor that can display on-screen the immediate

processing of objects. The "wysiwyg" Editor reproduced faithfully and screen instantly user manipulation. It simplifies the task

of data entry as well as it makes processing interface; this editor takes the standard word processing large software available on

WORKING TECHNIQUES

CHECK OUT THE SECRET TAGS

One widely used techniques for transferring information in your site is to copy information in your Word processer

and the Paste on the page of your site. You'll notice that, in doing so, you also copy the original styles and it is

difficult to find the stylistic elements of your own website. If you want to apply the requirements in order to

standardize your Web page to the entire site, you must first remove the secret word tags. To do this, there are two

techniques.

COPY-PASTE IN THE BLOC NOTES

It's just copy the text to insert in your WEB site and paste it into the block note or any other basic text editor. (ex:

Notepad ++), which has the effect of removing all unnecessary tags and unwanted styles. You then copy back the

text block note and paste it into the Wysiwyg.

Use the icon

Alternatively, you can copy your text directly into your Wysiwyg. Then select the text and click the button to

remove all unnecessary codes.

ELIMINATE UNNECESSARY TAGS

When correct or create a new page in your site, it is important to follow the styles of each page.

Use the styles of the style sheet as they appear in the editor. If you wish to reproduce faithfully the typographic

signature site, copy and paste snippets of text drawn in other pages. So your work will conform to all pages

throughout the site that presents a nice graphical uniformity. It may be that when you copy - paste a table, you

have difficulty in reproducing the same character; to find the character origin, eliminate the "P" tag you find at the

bottom of the page "wysiwyg" Editor

Click the "p" at the bottom of the page, and then "Remove" in the list of information in the right column of the

window. Your table will thus balance and characters meet their original appearance.

You can close the right panel by clicking the button.

COMPLY WITH STYLES

Thus, it is important to follow the styles of the site. Count on the model of existing pages to create new pages and

share this idea that the Visual quality of your site will be judged on the strength of its typographic appearance

draws strong and uniform design while excluding the wacky typographic drift.

Thus, faithfully reproduce the styles for the following:

• The titles

• Text, the font

• Tables

• Bullets

• Links

• Publications

You can find the styles palette by clicking on the button show right panel of your editor.

become familiar with the research in Scriptor, see find document . If you want the page to be used as page frame,

click the box frame page.

CREATE A PAGE FRAME

All dynamic pages are Web pages created by Scriptor. On the display, they therefore appear as the result of an

instant Assembly of the components that make up. This characteristic revolutionizes Web pages where it is now

possible to separate design container (the general framework of the page: menu, the top banner, bottom of page,

the logo of the institution, the frame layout, etc.) content, i.e. the actual information that will be displayed. As a

rule general framework page appears as the page that contains recurring Web site pages elements while the

content page offers original content just drag in a frame of reference. One could say that it comes so to separate

the (page framework) containing content (new page).

Thus, a Scriptor page can be created using resources framework page that displays a common formal master

shared by the family of pages that are linked. Page framework can then be used in place of gestation for an entire

generation of content pages to which it is used presentation environment. In other words, the content and

information is slid into the containing page framework. The page framework carries out his work of matrix visual

design while content pages that are derived are own information that introduces the specificity and originality.

Such a process easier site management and ensures its homogeneity. It allows rapid and frequent updates. Indeed

just edit one of the elements of the framework page for all other pages that are derived are immediately altered in

turn.

Tip : A frame page itself can merge other pages as a master item (top banner, banner bottom, menu links, logo,

etc.). This technique of separate elements that compose a page dynamically in standalone pages allows also a

simplicity and flexibility in managing your pages. Simply, in effect, make a single change in a merge page so that

the whole site is updated. On the other hand, should create the framework, a model of content (that you name

page content-section x, for example) page page to build this page reference all other pages of the said section.

Finally, it is useful to lock all fields in the page content (except for editors "wysiwyg" fields) so that the applicant

can modify fields content which he assumes editorial responsibility.

To create a page frame, first create a new Scriptor page either from the new menu on the left or from the DG

tab.

In the page properties window, type the name of the page and check the page frame.

By choosing check page frame, you ask Editor to view this page as a containing page that will serve as a model to

content pages. Thus, content slides (by merger) in the container that hosts it. Each framework page is now

identified by a characteristic icon (in the normal search window) and icon (in the tree view window).

This icon will later give access to a Publisher specialized to handle pages all frames as: allocation frames pages and

print frames, massive management pages, add pages.

INSERT THE CONTENT INSERTION

In the new page frame, choose Insert a point insertion content by clicking the button in the Toolbox. Note

that point content insertion icon appear in the frame page only. When you build a new page of content from

the frame page, inserting content icon will be replaced by the usual insertion point. In any new content page, click

the insertion point to add information of your choice, preferably in the "wysiwyg" Editor

The wise webmaster wishing to protect all the graphic elements of the page will have recourse to a simple trick: to

hide different editions page tags. To do this, click markers from the left menu . The page is displayed with

check boxes for the selection of markers. Select all of the tags you wish to block access and leave empty marker

that you want to make it accessible and click checkboxes.

In the window on the left, only markers "wysiwyg" publishers will be activated in the content page and they will

therefore be alone can be changed by the user in the page content

CREATE A CONTENT PAGE

Accelerating construction pages content, use a named page contents-0 for example model providing a page

reference on which you build the subsequent pages. To build new pages, click the new tab in the left menu

bar and then enter the name of the page content, a brief description, then the number of the page where the new

page is created in the create the page check box. You can do from the search by clicking on the button Search.

This new page will use the elements of primary content page (with hidden tags) and the containing page

framework associated with it.

This procedure can then be used to create all the pages of the site.

BUILD PAGES USING A FRAME PAGE

To build pages using the template of a page frame, you must ensure that be included in the page properties page

frame number. To register the number of the frame page, click the Properties tab in the left menu.

Search needed among the Scriptor pages by clicking on the button then enter the number of the desired

frame page in the page frame area.

Finally click the button. The new Scriptor page appears with a content inserted into the model chosen

framework page. Thus, content fits into the container.

Note: When you attach a page number frame to a page of content, you allow Scriptor drag everything on this page

in the page framework containing exact instead of content insertion point. New page thus obtained, then appears

as the perfect fusion of the container and the content. This operation, which describes very well the principle of

operation of the framework versus the page content, page quite well illustrates the content in one containing

independent dynamics that the page framework and the content migration process.

INSERT CONTENT INTO A SCRIPTOR WEB PAGE

As soon as you save the new page properties, content editor starts automatically: it displays the menu bar and

creates a new page to the right.

A blank input window appears then, and in its left upper end, the insertion point icon . Note that the title bar of

this page is a unique identification number. Scriptor, each page is numbered randomly at the time of its creation

from 1 to 999999; this number is - in addition to the title - an additional means of identification of the page which

you can use to find a page in the database of the Scriptor Web pages. From each insertion point, you can insert any

object publicised by the HTML protocol is: text, image, hyperlink, a table editor "wysiwyg" etc. Whenever you want

to add a new item in a page, click an insertion point: the bar menu to the left of your screen you can run different

operations (insert, copy, cut, paste) new elements (image, hyperlink, text, etc.) or edit them once created.

Click one of the tabs on the left menu to insert an element (text, image, hyperlink, etc.) and start building your

Web page.

INSERT A TABLE

A table

An image

A hyperlink

Anchor navigation

Text

Return

A bulleted list

A video

But before to insert some content whatsoever, it is always advised to determine the dimensions of the initial page

table because it as the model and it is for it that will be able to build all subsequent pages.

Tip : It is always easier to carry out the construction of a Web page from a table. A table provides precise key

elements graphical and textual Web page in each cell. For best results, determine the table width and the width of

each cell to provide a rigid and stable framework in which you can drop the items content. For example: If you set

the total width of the table to 760 pixels, the width for each column should never exceed this number: 200 pixels

to the first column (usually reserved for the menu) and 560 pixels for the second (reserved normally for other

relevant information).

EDIT THE PROPERTIES OF A TABLE

A table is a graphical framework in which insert the virtual elements Web page: image, text, hyperlinks, etc. To

build a very visually consistent, it should be specified graphical table properties: width, pixel (percentage), indicate

the values of the edges, borders, and specify the space occupied by the cells in a table view type. Includes table

cells, each cell has its own character (width, left-center-right alignment, background color, stroke, background

image); you can even insert a table into a cell.

To change the properties of a table, select it and click the Edit icon.

The choices offered by the drop-drag the slider on the action you want to perform. The pulldown menu allows to

modify general properties of the table all or those of the cell where you just click the Edit the Table . A choice of

action then offers to you.

When you click one of the menu items, Scriptor opens the window to perform the desired action and change the

properties of the selected object.

Tip : Ideally when we build a Web page, it should first create an array of 760 pixels wide (this corresponds to the

width of the screen to a resolution of 800 X 600, there should be 40 pixels to the width of the vertical scrolling strip

window). Then it determines the width of the table cells so that each one can be a reliable tag displaying; the sum

of each cell of a row may never exceed the total width of the table.

SPECIFY THE WIDTH OF THE TABLE

One popular tricks of the infographes is to delimit the graphics surface of the web page. You can do so by

specifying the table width, so you'll create a perimeter of constant work in which you'll submit all relevant

information (logos, images, titles, text, hyperlinks, etc.). Usually, the width of the table that receives the home

page is fixed at 760 pixels; this allows optimal display for monitors with resolution of 800 X 600 pixels leaving

horizontal space of 40 pixels that will be occupied by the vertical scrolling tape to the right of the screen. Whatever

your screen resolution, nevertheless align the financial Center, allowing you to obtain a balanced from the edges of

the screen display.

To specify the width of a table, click one of the icons change table to your page. In the drop-down list, choose the

table properties.

Then enter the width you want in the width; box if you want the table occupies a portion as a percentage of the

window display, leave the check %; if you want a pixel value, clear the %. Percentage is selected, the width of the

table box number must be between 1 and 100.

SPECIFY THE HEIGHT OF THE TABLE

To specify the height of a table, click one of the icons change table to your page. In the drop-down list, choose the

table properties.

Enter the height you want in the height; box if you want the table occupies a portion as a percentage of the

window display, leave the check %; if you want a pixel value, clear the %. Percentage is selected, the number of the

box height must be between 1 and 100.

Tip : It is not absolutely necessary to fix the height of a table. Current trends in computer graphics suggest that

most sites display a width defined, but that height, she, is variable and depends on the amount of content which is

deposited. In this respect, the site of Cyberpresse presents a graphical invoice closed in width, but open in height.

CHANGE THE COLOR OF BACKGROUND (SHADING) TABLE

To specify background color or shading of a table, click one of the icons change table. In the drop-down list,

choose the table properties. In the table properties window layout, section if you want to add color to your table,

start by clearing the checkbox transparent.

Click on order to open the color palette for a quick selection or even enter precise values code RGB, i.e. red,

green and blue by selecting the drop down lists for each color. You can also directly enter the hexadecimal color

code in the appropriate box.

If you change the color, press the Refresh button to see the chosen color. To finish, then click the Save button.

Note : use the same technique to change the color of the border of a table.

Tip : When you construct a complex page, always note color links, funds cell numbers or tables that you create,

this will speed up the process of composition of pages. When you want to emphasize the outline of a table, select

the color of the outline, and then add a few pixels to the width of the stroke (see determine the space between

the table cells ).

INSERT A BACKGROUND IMAGE IN A TABLE

You can also insert a background image by clicking . You access and the search window to select an image from

one of your directories.

Verify the chosen image size, may resize the image in the appropriate format, and then click the ellipsis button

to transfer the image to your table.

DETERMINE THE ALIGNMENT OF THE TABLE ON PAGE

Alignment of the table in the page allows you to place the table left, Center or right of the screen; by default,

Scriptor always aligns a table on the left.

In the table properties window, deploy the alignment list, and choose the desired alignment: left, Center, right.

And save the changes: table snaps into your page.

Tip : Centering a table is an operation that, aesthetically, helps your page to acquire a certain status to elegance

and efficiency in terms of Visual representation. As with the table of the homepage, for example, you ensure that

all information are correctly aligned to the center of the page, allowing you to balance the blocks of information,

regardless of the user's screen resolution. This is a graphical trend is observed today in most of the major portals.

A style has been created for your tables will make it possible to reproduce automatically by choosing the

appropriate drop-down list styles style.

FORCE SPACE IN CELLS

The function force space in cells was used by graphic designers in some primitive versions of browsers. It is the

introduction of a nonbreaking space ('nbsp' character) in the field of cell. However, it is hardly used today because

newer versions of browsers allow you to view content without specifying this element.

To leave an empty cell, click one of the icons change table . In the drop-down list, choose the table properties.

In the table properties window, select space forced into cells.

Click the button to keep the changes.

CREATE A BORDER

When it creates a border on a table, it required a strict framework easily identified visually. The border is a kind of

Visual perimeter used to graphically define the outline of a table. You can determine the width in pixel of this same

border that give it a color. If you choose to set the value to 0 (the default), Scriptor propelled not border around

the table; if you specify a number in the border section area, the border will adjust to the number of recorded

pixels width.

To specify the width of the table border, click one of the icons change table . In the drop-down list, choose the

table properties.

In the table properties window, choose the desired border color, clear the transparency check box, and then

choose desired border size in the drop-down list: enter the desired width for the table border; defaults to 0 (zero)

indicates a lack of border and any other number indicates the width of the table in pixel border.

To complete the operation and to keep the change, then click the Save button.

A table with a border of 12 pixels and a blue outline.

DETERMINE THE SPACE BETWEEN THE TABLE CELLS AND CELLS

Determine the space in the table cells is a simple operation to release steam content in the cells in the taking off

the edge of the cell. It is an excellent technique to breathe content by creating real margins areas of text for

example. Thus, should be to create a register in the box heading value moderate (between 5 and 15 pixels for

example) in order to detach objects framework table.

To determine the width of the space in the cells and between cells in a table, click one of the icons change table

. In the drop-down list, choose the table properties.

In the table properties window, choose the desired spacing pop-up each of the 2 lists: enter the desired width for

the Interior cells and around spacing; by default, 0 (zero) indicates that the objects are pasted on the edge of the

cell and any other number indicates the width of the space in and around the table cells.

To complete the operation and to keep the change, then click the Save button.

EDIT THE PROPERTIES OF A LINE

You can grant to a row in a table a particular graphical status by changing its properties. To determine the

properties of a line in a table, click an icon Edit line to edit.

In the drop-down list, choose the line properties.

Then, in the line properties window, register values specifying the height of the line; you can enter a value in pixel

(default value) or a value as a percentage relative to the table (in this case, check the %). Then specify the type of

alignment you want to see in the line or the horizontal alignment (left, right Center) or vertical (high, medium,

low).

Then choose the color you want to see reproduce in bottom line: use the same technique described above under

the heading Insert in a page background color.

Finally, click the Save button.

EDIT THE PROPERTIES OF A CELL

Cell is the basic unit for graphical objects that come furnish space Scriptor page guides. While you could publish a

picture or text in a page without forcing them to live the framework of a particular cell, but thus published object

will always arranged in the same place, that is aligned at the top on the left margin of the page. To get an

interesting aesthetic result may increase readability criteria, it should be specified cell properties allowing them to

effectively have the content they are preparing to welcome.

To change the properties of a cell, click the Edit the Table icon in the cell to change.

In the drop-down list, choose the cell properties.

Then, in the cell properties window, enter the values you want for each property you want to change. Thus you

can change:

1 dimensions: height and width of the cell in pixels or percentage of the table.

2 alignment: horizontal (left, Center, right, justified) and vertical (low, medium, high);

3 shading: color and picture background.

4 merging cells.

5 color of the cell borders.

Note : Cell properties always outweigh the row and table properties. Thus, the background color of a cell will come

to hide the row and the table.

Finally, click the Save button.

HEIGHT AND WIDTH OF A CELL

The width and height of the cell automatically adjust and reflect the dimension listed in the table and the contents

of the cell properties. However, you determine correct values for width or height cells to compel them to fill in the

table width, and height accurate. For example, in the large table page framework whose width would have been

fixed at 760 pixels, it will be useful to specify the width of the cell receives the logo of corporate image (the cell in

the left corner at the top of the page) by assigning the same width as the frame, example 200 pixels for 560 pixels

for the cell on the right; the total number of pixels to the two cells in the first line must match the total number of

pixels previously determined for the width of the table

To change the properties of a cell, click the Edit the Table icon in the cell to change

In the drop-down list, choose the cell properties.

Then, in the cell properties window, enter the values you want for each property you want to change.

The default values for width and height of the cells are set to 0 pixels; they thus automatically adjust the

dimensions of the object that you insert. Although the text is compressible, images they aren't; they take therefore

any place cell regardless of the size it has indicated unless it has chosen to reduce proportionally. Moreover,

images are répéteront tiled both and also that the surface of the cell will allow. In fact, it is important to make a

perfect symbiosis between all objects in a table in accordance with the following principle: the sum of the value of

horizontal cells in a row must never exceed the value of the width of the table.

Tip : It is sometimes important to determine the width of the cell based on the exact dimensions of the object that

it inserts: for example, a cell in which you insert an image with a width of 120 pixels should be adjusted to the

same value; then type 120 in the "width of the cell" field.

In the window on the left, a table has been placed in the center of the window; column 1 is 40% of the table,

column 2 occupies 20% of the table, and column 3 default is 40% of the table for a total of 100%.

Finally, click the Save button.

CELL ALIGNMENT

To determine the horizontal and/or vertical content cell alignment, click on the Edit the Table in the cell to

change icon.

In the properties of the cell, window choose from the dropdown choices horizontal and/or vertical alignment you

want. By default, objects are placed in the Center, to the left of the cell.

Finally, click the Save button.

Tip : Horizontal alignment causes have cell objects exactly where you want. If you want to Center a title, choose

alignment "Center"; If you want to move an image or document merged upwards, choose vertical alignment "top"

Apply generally aligning 'centre' and when you want to Center a title for example. "High" alignment will allow

pasting objects as merged menus or text sought to see quite match the upper limit of the cell areas.

Then follow the instructions described in the Insert Picture to deposit cell background image of your choice.

Don't forget to complete the operation by clicking the Save button.

Tip : When you add a background image in a cell, this image will repeat indefinitely. If you insert a picture on

grounds of small dimension, you will then have the surprise of even your image it repeats tiled both and also that

the surface of the cell will allow. To avoid that an image is repeated to infinity, enter precise values like width and

height of the cell: these values are usually those of the image to insert.

The table below is a table whose width was suckled set to 250 pixels. In column 1, the image is the same dimension

as the cell, it prints only once. In column 2 of 125 x 125 pixels image repeats tiled to fill the cell

MERGE CELLS

You can merge cells in a table on a horizontal axis. To do this, we must, however, that a cell has been

previously cleared from the table; the merge operation then resumes table in all its original perimeter

allowing new cell merged to behave like a cell stand-alone wider than other cells of the table.

To merge cells in a table, click the Edit the Table cell you want to merge icon. In the properties of the cell,

window register the number of cells to merge in the width box. The new cell now occupy an equal width number

of cells that you specified.

Then click Save.

Note : Merge cells is important when you want to build the homepage template and frame any page; remove a cell

in the table and merge with the missing cell: table will rebuild according to perfectly functional and aesthetic

forms. When you merge cells, it is important to reset the width of the cell merged so it acquire the missing cell

properties. So, edit the properties of the new cell must be merged by adding the width of the cleared cell.

Furthermore, the tree mode allows you to group pages so that you can bring together them in a coherent while

Merging documents is an operation which brings together in a single page data produced in other Scriptor pages to

create a single document. It merges a Scriptor page with another page Scriptor to generate a target page that

gathers information sources page.

"Fusion page" is one of the most important functions used during the construction of Web pages because it allows

you to display on a main page (often a page frame) the content of different subpages. For example it may

incorporate a cell in the homepage items in other pages as images, titles, texts, in the form of a list of hyperlinks,

navigation menus etc. Merge 'calls' designated pages to merge into the space of the main page as if she becomes

the meeting place of multiple simultaneous views. However, when it modifies a element merged "pieces", this

means that all pages that incorporate it will instantly retouched. This technique will be used for the fast growing

sites where it should add (or subtract) update of new navigation elements. Is not necessary to add in each page,

simply add hyperlinks - or headers - source page for example to make the entire site to be updated.

To merge the content of a secondary page in a segment on the main page, choose first insertion point and click on the tab

page from the left-hand menu.

Search the

secondary page

Locate the secondary page according to the technical research specific to Scriptor, then save your choice.

Tip 1 : When it wants to build a site-wide, it is necessary to design the architecture pages based on the merger may

be carried out. A Portal homepage will also in construct mode page framework to distinguish the containing the

content. It could come from 4 or 5 different mergers: logo at the top-left menu navigation bringing together

different icons tools (research, plan site, etc.), navigation menu horizontal secondary referring to commercial

sections of the site (Tools, calendars, etc.), bringing together all hyperlinks in content, a navigation banner at the

bottom of the page, left navigation menu for quick return to the homepage, etc. It should be noted that blending

technique is intimately linked to the technique of building a page to another page which allows structurally

identical pages. Change then one merged secondary pages to get full and instant site updated regardless of the

number pages it contains.

Tip 2 : All of these pages will form a content structure that the DG of webpages can perfectly reflect. By observing

the hierarchy of the pages on the site, we can observe a classification that will come to illustrate a systematic

construction concern which reveals the basic content architecture.
