Email Service Provider Net Atlantic uses Twitter to ensure that teachers and students have access to vital school supplies.
Salem, Mass. (Vocus) August 27, 2009 -- Email Service Provider Net Atlantic announced today that it will donate supplies to schools in need for every new Twitter follower it receives in September during its month-long Tweeting For School Supply Drive. To promote the Supply Drive, Net Atlantic will customize its Twitter page with a back-to-school theme featuring a gauge that shows how many supplies will be donated at the completion of the drive.

The initial goal, according to Director of Sales and Marketing Shane McCarthy, is to give 500 classroom supplies, though Net Atlantic hopes to be able to donate 1,000 or more. He added that Net Atlantic would like people to come forward with the names of schools in need of pencils, paper, scissors and other necessities by emailing wecare (at) netatlantic (dot) com. During the Supply Drive, Net Atlantic will update its Twitter followers on what materials will be sent and what schools are benefiting from the donated supplies. Plus, the company will tweet about ways individuals can do their part to help underprivileged students.
