The ]. S. Lee Memorial Fellowship Programme is Open for Application

The J. S. Lee Memorial Fellowship Programme was established in 2008 in memory of the late Dr.
Lee Jung Sen (1915-2007)who was devoted to the promotion of the study of Chinese art. This
annual exchange Progranune aims to provide professional development opportunities for curators
and young academics irr Chinese art on a worldwide basis through attachments at museums and
art institutions outside of their national borders.
Terms of Award
The Jellowship fund covers round-trip airfare and living expenses during the period of the
attachment.
The duration of the fellowship usually ranges from four to twelve months. Fellows are expected to
begin their attachmerrts within one year after the award has been made.
Eligibility
Applicants must hold at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Chinese art
history, archaeology, museology and conservation.
Proficiency in the language of the destined counh.y is required,
There is no restriction regarding the nationalities of applicants.
Application Procedures
1 Before submitting the applications, applicants should find and contact prospective hosting
institutions from the list of Participating Institutions to arrange attachments.

2. Applicants can obtain the contact information of their prospective Hosting Institution by
submitting a written request to the Programme Coordinator via email.
3. Two recommendation letters are required. "Reconnnendation Forn{' can be downloaded at

Confidential recommendations must be sent to our office
directly from the referees.
4. Applicants should download and complete the "Application Fot'tlr"available online on our
website. Hard copies of completed "Application Fornt" and "Rccotnmendntiott.
Fornt" should
be submitted (by post) to the I. S. Lee Memorial Fellowship Programme Office before the
application deadline.

5. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and the arurouncement of

The ]. S. Lee Memorial Fellowship Programme (2012/ 2013) is Now Open for Application
The J. S. Lee Memorial Fellowship Programme was established in 2008 in memory of Dr, Lee Jung
Sen's lifelong conh'ibutions in Chinese art promotions. To succeed Dr. Lee's passions and visions
towalds Chinese art, this annual exchange prograrrune aims to foster Chinese art developments
and international dialogues among museums. Through the Programme, professional development
opportunities in related but not limited to Chinese art history, curatorship, archaeology and
conservations are provided to both local and overseas curators and young academics to participate
in attachments at renowned museums or art institutions in Canada, the U.K., the U.S.A., China or
Taiwan.
Fellows will have opportunities to work under leading curatorial professionals and to participate
in curatorial works and researchesfor a period of four to twelve months outside their national
borders, at which round-h'ip airfare and living expensesduring the attachment period will be
covered,
The Programme applica.tion deadline is 31 Tanuary 2012 and the award announcement will be
