Keepin Pace - FAQ's and Sale Bio
Pace has come to JL Sport Horses for sale on consignment - I know his previous owner well
and know the quality of horses she purcahses. He has been well trained under saddle,
ridden english and western by juniors and adults. He is showing real talent as a horse for
any sport horse descipline. Since he has been here, I have worked Pace in the arena, over
small fences and on trails. He is a willing horse and can be worked with by a competent
junior or ameteur rider. He has never offered to buck, rear, or bolt, in the time he has been
here. I believe Pace is suitable for trails, a family, showing, 4H, Pony Club, etc.
Pace has nice conformation and is a cute mover. With some training from a rider with soft,
steady hands, I believe he will develope a very nice top line to complete his frame. He has
clean legs and has no history of chronic lameness or illness. He is easy to work with around
the barn and has good ground manners. He ties, loads, bathes, stands for vet and farrier,
etc. He has no vices and stalls well - He also enjoys pasture time alone or with other horses -
He is not aggressive in the pasture, but not passive either.

What had he done before you bought him? I'm selling him for a client - He has been a
ranch horse his whole life.
What type of training has he had? Western, cattle work, trails, some English & Jumping
Has this horse ever been bred? N/A
Why are you selling him? They bought him for a family member who never rides - He is
too young and nice to be retired for no reason.
Does he have any vices (cribbing, etc) or quirky behaviors? No
How are his barn manners? Good
Does he act different at a show than at home? Neven shown - Trail ridden all over the
country.
How does he act when riding alone? He is alright, would prefer to be with other horses.
How does he act when riding in a group? Great
Any particular tack items he does not tolerate (certain bits, spurs, etc)? He does not need
spurs or a strong bit.
Any particular tack items you would recommend for this horse? Snaffle bit or mild curb.
Does he have any health issues which need on-going care? No, he is very sound and healthy.
Has he ever been lame, ill, etc? No
Does he have any lumps, bumps, scars, brands, etc? No
If you could change one thing about him, what would it be? Nothing really - The owners
love him and want him to go to a good home.
Does he lead, tie, clip, load, stand for vet and farrier? Yes - Except we have never tried to
clip him.
When was his last farrier visit? Last week in June
What is the condition of his feet? Great quality
Does he have shoes? No, never has
Does he have a current negative coggins? Yes
Does he get regular vaccinations and deworming? Yes, by our vet
Is he completely sound to train, ride and/or show at this time? As far as anyone knows - He
has never been lame at all.
What type of show experience does he have? N/A

What level of rider does he need? Intermediate
Is he an easy, moderate or difficult to keep weight on? Very easy
What type of feed and how much does he get? 1/2 scoop 10% sweet feeed once a day and
grass pasture day and night.
Is he turned out alone or with other horses? With about 10 other horses - Mares and
geldings
Does he trail ride calmly and/or ride bareback? Yes - He does not like to be left behind on a
trail ride
Has he been raced? - If so, did he retire sound from the track? He was never raced.
Does he know his lead changes? Not yet
Does he have any stopping issues at the fences? Has only been started over low fences so far -
Has not presented any issues
Does he sweat easily? Yes - Very well
Does he have any known allergies? None known
Do you have a video of him? No - I don't have any videos... I'm planning to purcahse a video
camera when I make my next horse sale. There are many photos on the website.
Do you have a facility where buyers can try him, or would you be willing to trailer him to a
facility with an arena, show jumps, cross country, etc? Yes - I have a complete facility
where buyers can try him. I would be willing to trailer him at buyers expense.
Is he currently advertised for sale? - Where? On several websites including the Gray Lily
Farm website below.
Are you willing to consider a full or partial trade for another horse? No - Don't need any
more horses.
