Language Arts

speaking and listening
(4B) use vocabulary to describe clearly ideas, feelings, and
experiences
(5B) know that print moves left to right across the page and top to
bottom
(5C) understand that written words are separated by spaces
(5G) understand that spoken words are represented in written
language by specific sequences of letters
(14C) use phonological knowledge to map sounds to letters to write
messages
(16B) record or dictate his/her own knowledge of a topic in various
ways such as by drawing pictures, making lists, and showing
connections among ideas
Science

(K7A) observe, describe, and record changes
Lesson Objective:
After class discussions, experiences, and use of literature, students
illustrate what they like best about fall.
Material/Resources Needed:
Kid Pix
Lesson Procedure:
In Kid Pix, students draw a fall scene or activity showing what they like
best about the season. Students dictate a sentence or short narrative
about their illustration. Encourage the use of newly acquired vocabulary
from the topic of study
Assessments:
Student completion of assignment
