Anorogenic felsic magmas, and associated metasomatic activity and
mineralization; mineralogy of peralu-minous and peralkaline granitic rocks;
transmission electron microscopy applied to the characterization of the
rock-forming minerals; the mineralogy of feldspar-group minerals in all
crustal environments. Ore minerals in layered complexes. Fenites.
Current projects focus on 1) the mineralogy of fenites associated with the
fluorite-mineralized Amba Dongar carbonatite, Gujarat, India, 2) the mafic
minerals of the Strange Lake peralkaline granite, Quebec-Labrador, 3) the
petrology and mineralogy of Monteregian complexes, for example Mount
Royal and Mont Saint-Hilaire, 4) NYF-type granitic pegmatites and their
relationship with hyperagpaitic pegmatites, 5) the origin of line rock in
zoned pegmatites, and 6) carbonatitic melts of crustal origin.
