Who
Are We?
Youthtown is a non-profit organisation set up
to enrich the lives of young New Zealanders by
providing them with opportunities for fulfilling
physical, social and creative experiences.
The organisation turns 80 next year and since
first opening its doors as Boys Town in 1932, it
has evolved into one of New Zealand’s leading
youth organisations.
We are highly regarded for the services,
programmes and events we offer young
people and we’re committed to providing
safe environments where young New
Zealanders can discover fun and adventure.
Whether out on the water, in an art studio
or on the basketball court, every Youthtown
programme is designed to build self-esteem
and confidence through participation.
Youthtown is delighted to be opening its doors
in Papakura at the Red Hill Community Centre
where we will continue to strengthen our
In-Schools Sport Coaching Programme and
provide holiday programmes and after school
activity for 10-13 year-olds in the area.
Youthtown currently has branches in North
Shore, Auckland Central, Taupo, Upper Hutt,
Oamaru and Christchurch.
YOUTHTOWN PAPAKURA HOLIDAY PROGRAMME
October School Holidays (10-13 yrs only)
Important Day Trip Information:
• Children are to bring lunch and a drink bottle every day
and appropriate clothing for the day trips for example,
warm clothing, shoes, togs, towel and raincoats
• All day trippers must be at Youthtown by 8.30am
so we can check the register. All day trips will arrive
back by 4.00pm
• Please ensure children bring sunscreen and plenty
to drink
• Please ensure children wear enclosed footwear
• Children will be transported in Youthtown buses/vans
WORKSHOPS FOR ALL
In addition to our varied holiday programme we have
some amazing special interest workshops to keep young
people entertained these holidays. Workshops will be
hosted by industry professionals. The great news is that
they will be at no additional cost for the day!
The October holiday workshops include: Art Workshops,
Circus Skills, Flax Weaving, Rock-Climbing, Cooking.

WEEK ONE:
MONDAY 10 – FRIDAY 14 OCTOBER
Mon 10th YOUTHTOWN FUN ZONE $25
Experience a range of fun in-house activities
including: sports, games, cooking, rock-climbing,
Playstation, art, movies and heaps more.
Tues 11th AUCKLAND JET BOAT $35
Experience the exhilaration of the Auckland
Jet Boat while taking in the amazing sights of
the Auckland City and Harbour. You’ll be sure
to have a fun-filled adventure you won’t forget.
Wed 12th SAILING, KAYAKING, & WINDSURFING $35
Enjoy a day out with the Youthtown Outdoors
Team at the Orakei Basin participating in
activities such as windsurfing, kayaking and
sailing. Suitable for all levels.
Thurs 13th TREE ADVENTURES OR MOUNTAIN BIKING $35
Fun! Fun! Fun! Come try out your balancing
skills as you swing from one tree to another
before taking off on some of the longest flying
foxes around. Or test out your biking skills on
the awesome mountain biking tracks in the
Woodhill Forest. Choose which activity you
would like to do and have an amazing time
with us.

MONDAY 17 – FRIDAY 21 OCTOBER
Mon 17th ASCEND AND DESCEND AWAY $35
Come to the High Wire Charitable Trust and
let the Franklin Adventurous Training School
(FATS) team teach you the skills for climbing
and abseiling off ‘The Tower’. Increase your self-
confidence through high element activities.
Tues 18th ABSEIL THE HUNUA FALLS $35
Join the team at Kokako Lodge where you’ll get
to experience a once in a lifetime opportunity to
abseil 45m off the Hunua Falls. You’ll also get to
try your hand at orienteering through the Hunua
Forest. A trip not to be missed!
Wed 19th YOUTHTOWN FUN ZONE $25
Experience a range of fun in-house activities
including: sports, games, cooking, rock-climbing,
Playstation, art, movies and heaps more.
Thurs 20th RAINBOW’S END $35
One of the most anticipated trips of all holiday
programmes is Rainbow’s End! We’ll spend
the entire day zipping around in the bumper
boats, dropping from the Fearfall, screaming
as we loop the loop on the roller coaster and
experiencing the all new ride, “The Invader”.
Fri 21st WORLD CUP TEAM CHALLENGE $25
To celebrate the Rugby World Cup we’ve
teamed up with two other holiday programme
providers for a competitive day of sports and
activities. There will be prizes, giveaways and a
BBQ lunch. A great way to end the holidays.
