Steps to apply for a Santa Sabina College Creative & Performing Arts
Scholarship in 2013:
1. Register on-line via the College website www.ssc.nsw.edu.au to sit the ACER (Cooperative
Scholarship Testing Programme) test on Saturday 25 February 2012.
a. Apply for CSTP Level 1 test for Year 7 2013
b. Apply for CSTP Level 2 test for Year 9 2013
2. Complete the Santa Sabina Creative & Performing Arts Scholarship Application and email or
post to Ms Margaret Molloy, Registrar by Monday 6 February 2012.
3. Interviews for short listed applicants will be conducted by the Head of Secondary School
once we have received the ACER examination results.
4. All candidates will be advised of their results in writing.
5. All candidates will be advised of their audition time on Saturday 25 February 2012.

Applicants for the Creative & Performing Arts Scholarship should demonstrate outstanding
skills, commitment and achievement in one or more of the Creative and Performing Arts of
Drama and Music. Applicants are required to submit their Curriculum Vitae and complete an
audition where appropriate.
Santa Sabina Creative & Performing Arts Scholarships are offered to all students entering
Year 7 and prospective students entering Year 9.
This application is only to be used to apply for the Santa Sabina Creative & Performing
Arts Scholarship.

Music Audition Information
Music Applicants
Students applying for the Santa Sabina College Creative Arts Scholarship (Music) are
expected to demonstrate an outstanding musical ability that distinguishes them from other
music students.
Requirements
Auditions will take place in Holyrood, the SSC Music Centre (90 The Boulevarde Strathfield,
Corner of Jersey Road). Auditions will take place on Saturday 25 February 2012 at 1.00pm.
Each audition will take approximately 20 minutes. Students will be required to present the
following material:
Two contrasting pieces
Aural tests, similar to those used by the Australian Music Examinations Board
Accompaniment.
Accompaniment
Auditions must be accompanied. Candidates may bring their own accompanist or may be
accompanied by a member of the Music department provided adequate notice is given.
Likewise, students may wish to make use of a backing track where appropriate (CD or mp3).
As part of the audition, candidates will be invited to discuss their application with the Music
Coordinator.
Photocopied Music
In general, the Copyright Act prohibits the use of photocopied music. Photocopies should
not be used by candidates in the SSC scholarship audition, unless an exception to copyright
applies, or the relevant music publisher has granted permission for the candidate to make a
copy. The Practical Copyright Guide to the Use of Print Music in Australia is available from
music retailers, AMCOS, or may be downloaded from www.apra.com.au
