Period 1 Make-up Work Key
1. Syllabus Signed: Instead of getting your syllabus signed, provide Ms. Llamzon with a
working phone number. When she has a conversation with your parent or guardian, you
will get credit for this assignment.
2. Difficult Decision Description: For this assignment write a ONE PAGE description of a
tough choice you once made once. Describe everything that went through your mind
while you were making your decision. Who was affected by your choice, and how, were
they affected?
3. Comic Strip: Make a VIP box for each paragraph in the article about Justyce Williams.
Draw a picture for each box on a separate sheet of paper. If you can not locate a copy of
this article, pick an article from the newspaper and complete the assignment; make sure
to turn in your article with your comic strip.
4. Frayer Models: Make 5 Frayer models for any of the words we have learned this year. For
each word, give an example, a non-example, a definition, and a picture.
5. Profile Picture: Cut out a picture of a person from a newspaper or magazine. Describe the
person in the picture using three of our character traits words.
6. The Sniper: Write a summary sentence explaining the main idea in each paragraph on
the first page of the story, “The Sniper.”
7. Traits Quiz: Make an appointment with Ms. Llamzon to make up this quiz.
8. Participation grade: This is earned on a daily basis.
9. Fluency Check: Make an appointment with Ms. Llamzon to complete this.

capitalization and punctuation are correct. Use the Rbook to help you organize your
paragraph.
21. Sequencing homework: Complete the assigned worksheet putting the Kitwit events in

22. Sequencing paragraph: Write about one of your routines. Use signal words (like “first,”
“second,” “then,” “finally,” etc.) to help your reader understand the order in which you
perform your routine.
23. Sequence Organizer: Using the attached handout, organize the events in each paragraph.
First, record the signal word the author uses to help us understand the sequence of the
