WORKSHOP ON PREVENTING WINTER WEIGHT GAIN
WITH DIETICIAN LILA BRUK
Many people find that they gain weight over winter, and make use of a less-revealing
winter wardrobe to hide their weight gain in long, loose-fitting jerseys and baggy
tracksuits. However, as summer approaches, there is much more pressure for one’s body
to be on display. Thus, warmer weather usually brings with it a refocus on one’s body
and a sudden desperation to lose the winter weight. However, winter weight gain is not
only detrimental to how good you’ll look in your bikini come summer, but can also be
detrimental to your health. Recent research has shown that those extra pounds acquired
over winter are often not lost before the next year rolls by, and therefore can eventually
contribute to health problems such as obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure and heart
disease.
However, gaining weight in winter is not an inevitability, and this presentation by
dietician Lila Bruk will act as a guide as to how to stop winter weight gain in its tracks
before it rears its ugly head on your hips!
