THIS INFORMATION HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO ASSIST YOU IN APPLYING FOR UNIVERSITY
HOUSING. ALL OF THE INFORMATION PROVIDED IN THIS PACKET IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.
PLEASE BE SURE TO READ IT THOROUGHLY.

Once you have read this information, students who desire to apply to live in University Housing should do
the following:

                (1)     Complete the enclosed Summer Term Housing Application;
                (2)     Sign the enclosed Summer Term Housing Contract; and
                (3)     Return the Summer Term Housing Application and the Summer Term Housing
                        Contract below to:

ACCOMMODATIONS

Summer Term accommodation will be located in Tower C. These accommodations will be single rooms
with communal bathroom facilities.

FURNISHINGS

Your room will be furnished with a bed, mattress, desk, chair, dresser, mirror and closet area. The
University does not provide pillows, blankets, bedspreads, towels, hangers or desk lamps.

Please be aware that you may not store any of your personal belongings or furniture in any accommodation
at the end of your summer program. Therefore, you should only bring items that you will need for the
summer. No arrangements can be made for storage of personal belongings in the Residence Halls.

TELEPHONE SERVICE

Your room will be equipped with a touch-tone telephone and you will be provided with on-campus and local
dialing capabilities. If you desire off-campus calling capabilities you will need to make arrangements with
the Telecommunications Office, located in the Wesley W. Posvar Hall, this office can be reached at (412)
648-5900.

PANTHERFUNDS / FOOD SERVICE

PANTHERFUNDS are available through Panther Central for registered university students. You may call
(412) 648-1100 for more information.

Panther Central can also inform you of dining operation availability for the summer. You may contact them
at (412) 648-1100 or by email at pc@bc.pitt.edu.

The mailroom is located in Tower B. Your mailing address will be as follows:

You must comply with the appropriate Check-out date for your session. However, you may extend your
stay by bringing verification of registration for additional sessions to Panther Central only.

CHECK-IN

You may check in at Panther Central, which is located in the lobby of the Litchfield Towers.

PARKING

Parking is available at metered locations in the BQ Lot off of Bouquet Street. Housing carts are available
to assist with your move on a limited basis, and can be signed out at Panther Central.

HOUSING RATES

The applicant agrees to pay the room rates established by the University. Housing charges will be billed to
the resident’s student account at the University at a daily rate of $30.10


For those students who find it necessary to stay in the Residence Halls between the end of the Spring
Semester and the beginning of their chosen Summer Term, the Daily Rate of $30.10 would apply. These
fees will be added to your Summer Term Housing Charge and you will be required to relocate to Tower B
on Monday, May 2, 2011.


CANCELLATION OF THE SUMMER TERM HOUSING CONTRACT

The Summer Term Housing Contract may be cancelled by providing written request for cancellation to
Panther Central at least 1 week prior to the start of your selected Summer Session and/or Term. Neither
oral communication with Panther Central nor written communication with other offices constitutes
cancellation of the Summer Term Housing Contract.
