Dear CMM Parents:
Welcome to a new year at Cougar Mountain Montessori! We invite you to join the
Cougar Mountain Montessori Parent Association (CMMPA) and help build a better
community for your family and pre-schooler.
CMMPA is an opportunity for you to contribute to the enrichment of your child’s pre-
school experience. It’s a great forum to meet other parents and work together to do fun
things for our children and their teachers throughout the year.
CMMPA supports the staff, parents and students through programs, such as:
In-House Field Trips: Magic shows (Louie Foxx); Symphony on Wheels; Cougar
Mountain Zoo, Pacific Science Center
Staff Support and Appreciation: Staff appreciation luncheons; Holiday gifts
Parent Activities: Back to school picnic; Father's Night; Parents Night Out
Our budget is small. We are able to run programs throughout the year on less than
$5,000 and rely on our membership dues to fund approximately 65% of our budget.
Money raised from CMMPA is used to fund activities equally for the Upper, North, and
South Campus.
In the 2010-2011 school year, the CMMPA expenditures were divided as follows:
3% Administration
19% Father's Night
21% Staff and Teacher Appreciation
33% Community and Parent Events
24% In-House Field Trips
Membership and dues are voluntary. A suggested donation is $50 per
family/year. (You are welcome to donate more or less!) To join, please return the
attached membership form by September 30, 2011.
