There are a variety of ways to connect your Digital Terminal, depending on the type of home

entertainment equipment that you have. The Basic Connection on page 28 should be completed

first to get your Digital Terminal up and running. After you have completed the following steps,

choose from the Table of Contents the advanced connection for your home entertainment equip-

ment. It is recommended that you connect your TV, VCR and stereo with RCA cables to get the

best quality picture and sound. The connections on pages 28-34 outline the most common enter-

tainment equipment. If you require further assistance, please call 1-888-ROGERS1 (764-3771).

Note: Please ensure that your TV and VCR are both set to Channel 3. If you are using RCA cables

or S-Video cables to connect your Digital Terminal to your TV/ VCR ensure that you have

selected the correct input setting on your TV or VCR. Depending on the make and model of

your TV/ VCR, this input may be called Line 1, Video 1, or Aux 1.

Note: Please ensure that all coaxial cable and RCA cable connections are made before connecting

your Digital Terminal to the electrical outlet.

2. Electrical Connections

It is preferable that the Digital Terminal be connected to a surge-protected Power Bar (not provid-

ed) along with your other electronic components:

1. Plug the (keyed) end of the power cord into the Digital Terminal. Then plug the power cord

into the Power Bar (as recommended) or into another electrical outlet.

2. Optional: when you have connected your Digital Terminal and it is operational, there is the

option to connect your TV’s power cord into the A/C outlet at the back of the Digital Terminal.

To do this, please go into General Settings and select SET: A/C outlet. Press to learn

more about this feature and its capabilities. Select the option you want and then unplug your

phase the first time it is turned on, during which it checks to ensure that everything is

working properly. Once this phase is complete, the display on the front of the Digital

Terminal will show the time.

Note(C): In order to protect your equipment from electrical surges, please ensure that you

plug all home devices into a surge protector, including the Television.
