Club History
Location Croydon, England Formed as Shirley Wanderers RFC in 1956, by a mixture
Ground(s) Addington Road of experienced players and those who were new to the
game. After 7 years as a wandering size the club opened
President
a clubhouse on the present site and leased 3 pitches, of
Coach(es) which 2 remain.
M. Dexter-Tissington
In 2003, Croydon RFC welcomed the players of Old
Captain(s) C. Palmer (1st XV) Croydonian RFC after the club lost its supply on youth
C. Collcutt (2nd XV) players, and then had to rely on players relocating to
T. Henderson (3rd XV) the area for employment and from non-playing rugby
schools, and therefore started having troubles fielding a
League(s) RFU Surrey 1
side, leading to the renaming of the club as Croydon RFC.
Official website Croydon currently field 3 senior sides, and 2 junior
sides, with all sides competing in rugby leagues.
