Cracker Candy

saltines
½ lb (2 sticks) margarine
1 cup sugar – white or brown
1 – 12 oz package semi-sweet chocolate chips
Line 10x15-inch cookie sheet (or jelly roll pan) with foil and line bottom with saltines. Melt
margarine and add sugar. Boil and stir constantly for 3 minutes. Pour over crackers and bake at
400 for 5 – 7 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Spread with knife as they melt.
Refrigerate for 1 hour to cool. Remove foil and break into pieces like peanut brittle. Put in
airtight container – do not put in refrigerator again.
*Toppings can be added: nuts, sprinkles, etc. Press into top before refrigerating.
