Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Workshop:
This course is one of the quality education and training courses given by the
Lehigh Valley Section of the American Society for Quality.
The next certification exam is scheduled for December 3, 2011
The due date for applications to take the December 4, 2011 exam is October 14, 2011.

ASQ Certified Quality Engineer Certification requirements are:
(a) 8 years of experience in one or more of the areas of the Certified Quality Engineer Body of Knowledge,
partial waiver for post-secondary education,
(b) proof of professionalism, society membership, etc. and (c) pass the exam.
Course Topics and Organization:
The following topics representing the CQE Body of Knowledge will be covered in the workshop:
- Management and Leadership in Quality Engineering
- Quality Systems Development, Implementation, and Verification
- Planning, Controlling, and Assuring Product and Process Quality
- Reliability and Risk Management)
- Problem Solving and Quality Improvement
- Quantitative Methods
OUR APPROACH TO THE CLASS AND EXAM:
This is an adult centered course for busy professionals – the class is intended to provide enough review during
the class such that only nominal additional preparation is required. Repetition of principles, group guided
problem solving and review of exam unique questions insures the student is exposed repeatedly to the
necessary knowledge to do well on the exam itself. In addition, the course provides a forum for discussion
of and advice with respect to the students’ individual professional circumstances, and the instructors experiences.

2. Those who want to prepare for the Certified Quality Engineer exam should take this course to refresh their
knowledge of quality engineering.

Participation in this course will sharpen your quality engineering skills and broaden you knowledge of engineering
principles while preparing for the Certified Quality Engineer exam. The course participants themselves typically
bring a wealth of day in and day out experience to the meetings. Examples from real life serve to cement the

requires substantial prior experience and training in quality engineering principles.

including twenty-three years of quality engineering experience at Motorola, an ISO9000 certified organization
and Malcolm Baldrige Award winner.
