									A Community Resource Guide
for Assisting Families in Need

                                 Connect to
                     Services
                               Greetings!

The Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO and United Way of Southeastern
Pennsylvania are proud to partner in Connect to Services, a guide
to community resources designed to assist families in need
throughout the region. With the increasing economic challenges
facing our community, more and more people need information on
how to connect with the agencies that can best help families and
individuals.

The partnership between organized labor and United Way spans
more than fifty years. Both organizations are recognized as
respected community builders working together on major commu-
nity outreach and advocacy issues. Together, we provide vital
information to empower families through education around issues
affecting their lives and the communities where we work and live.

The Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO and United Way also co-host the
weekly Labor to Neighbor talk radio show on WURD 900 AM where
we use the airwaves as another vehicle to keep the community
informed and empowered.

We hope you find this resource guide a valuable tool in your jour-
ney to a better life for you and your family.

In solidarity,
