Auxiliary Happenings Volume I, Issue II
Currently the Auxiliary is planning the “Shiloh Fun Day” and is meeting once a week until the event.
Proceeds from this well benefit the community building with some much needed repairs. The roof
has already be repaired and the building is in need of a new Heating and Cooling system. The cur-
rent one has died. The heat is on its last leg and the A/C went out last year. We are in need of vol-
unteers to assist in planning this event and then putting it on. Currently we have about 6 members
working on this project and could use a few more and then we will need a ton of help putting this
event on and making it a success. For more information please contact Kitty Cardwell, Cindy Upcoming Events

June 17-23 2007
• This year’s theme is “Ready to Respond.”
• Focusing on proper training, preparation and equipage before a call
• Promoting the idea that all members can respond to, work and return

Seat belts—Saves Lives!
Seat Belts—Seat Belts—Seat Belts!!!
It is imperative that everyone wears their seat belt, both in their POV’s and the fire
department apparatus. FYI for those that do not know if your not wearing your
seat belt and you are involved in a accident your survivor benefits can be reduced or
event elimated. So Please remember to buckle up and remind your partner. If
you’re the driver it is your responsibility to make sure everyone is buckled up.

Shiloh Happenings Chaplin's Corner
By Kevin Cochran
Rockingham County Fire Chaplin
We have been witness, once again, to a mass casualty incident that no one
will soon forget. April 16th, 2007 will be a date long remembered, not
only by Virginia Tech University, but the entire nation as well. Described
by many as “911-ish” referring to the terrorist attacks waged on this
country September 11, 2001, we watch in horror as the death toll is given
and the magnitude of the incident is felt. We grieve for those that lost
loved ones as the same one word question is asked over and over again.
“Why?” Even as the evidence is collected and the killer’s profile is studied,
there is still no real good reason to explain what happened that day other
than something evil happened. There is sin in the world. “In the middle of
the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in
the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and
evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die." (Genesis 2:9b, 17,17). We
were given the Tree of Life, but chose the Tree of knowledge and sin en-
tered a perfect world, and mankind has been dieing ever since. But, thank
God, that is not the end of the story. Jesus said, “The thief comes only to
steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to
the full. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the
sheep.” (John 10:10,11). While the world offers pain and destruction, Jesus
offers life and protection. Pray for those that suffer and rejoice that Jesus
Christ stood at death’s door and shut it forever. Do you know Him?
Congratulations
