COMPUTER MONITORS
There are two types of computer monitor. Both types complete the
same task – showing you the information you are trying to view or the
document you are trying to create – but do so in different ways.
Below there are pictures of the two types and reasons you might
prefer one or the other.
This is a CRT monitor. CRT stands for
cathode ray tube. If you are concerned
about price, but not space this is the best
choice for you. This monitor is cheaper
than LCD, but takes up about 8 times
more space.
This is an LCD monitor. LCD stands for
liquid crystal display. It costs more than
a CRT monitor, but takes up much less
space. The price on this type of monitor
has dropped a great deal in the last year
and will continue to drop. Many people
find that this type of monitor is easier on
their eyes because of the technology it
uses to display the image.
