New updates on Selfgrowth.com - PLEASE READ



The SelfGrowth.com dashboard has been changed. You can now find a list of everything

you can do to utilize your professional account on the left. Links to submit articles, links

and events can be found. You can also find all your information in the center boxes. From

how many articles you have pending to how many links you have approved. Everything

you need to know is right there!



We also have a few new features. You can now follow topics, authors and experts.



You can follow a topic in two ways:



You can click on "Update Newsfeed Topics" to update quickly what topics you would

like receive up to date information or remove topics you no longer need information on.



You can also go to any articles on SelfGrowth.com and find a “get updates” link on both

articles



How can I get updates from a particular Expert?

You can find a link to follow an expert on their page or on an article written by the expert

next to the title

Where can I locate my free downloads promised when I signed up?



Once you sign up, a e-mail is sent with a link to the free stuff page. Just in case you

I'm having problems with my password and can't log in. What should I do?



First, be sure to add SelfGrowthMessage@selfgrowth.com to your address

book/whitelist/list of approved senders in your e-mail account to ensure that our system

messages will get through.



Second, if you've forgotten your password, you can reset it at any time by going here.

The system will then send you link that is a one time login. You will be taken to a page to

update your password. WE do not send you a new password. We send you a link to reset

your password. Please update your password immediately after logging in.



If you are still unable to log in, you can e-mail us at websupport@selfgrowth.com and

we'll manually reset your password but please attempt the above before contacting us.

Selfgrowth does not send you a new password.



I just created a new account with SelfGrowth.com and did not receive the activation

email/I am not receiving the newsletters I signed up for - What should I do?



Your email is sent immediately.



Add the following e-mail addresses to your white list (these address used to send

passwords and newsletters):

AOL:



1. Open an email from Selfgrowth.com that is in your spam box and then click the 'This

Is Not Spam' button

2. Click the Mail menu and select Address Book

3. Wait for the Address Book window to pop up, then click the 'Add' button

4. Wait for the Address Card for New Contact window to load

5. Paste “Selfgrowth.com Address” into the „Other E-Mail‟ field

6. Make our "From" address, “Selfgrowth.com Address”, the Primary E-Mail address by

checking the appropriate box

7. Click "Save"

If checking mail from AOL.com – just follow step 1 from above.



G-Mail



• Click on “Options”

• Go to “Filters”

• Click “Create a new filter”:

• Type the email address you want to whitelist in the “from” field. You can type a full

address, such as “Selfgrowth.com Address”, or just “@Selfgrowth.com” if you expect to

receive emails from different people with email addresses ending in Selfgrowth.com

Address”:

• Click “next step”

• Check “never send to spam”:

• Click “create filter”



Yahoo!

1. If you find email from Selfgrowth.com is going to your Yahoo! bulk folder, open it

and click "Not Spam"

2. Be sure that the address “Selfgrowth.com Address” is not in your "Blocked Addresses"

list. If “selfgrowth.com” is on your "Blocked Addresses" list, select it and click "Remove

Block"

Now to create the filter:

1. Open your mail and click on "Mail Options" in the upper right hand corner

2. Select 'Filters' (in the bottom left corner)

3. On the Filters page, click "Add"

4. Select the "From header:" rule, and add "contains" and alerts- Selfgrowth.com

Address, which tells the system to put email with alerts- Selfgrowth.com Address in your

inbox and not the bulk folder.

5. Click the "Choose Folder" pull down menu and select 'Inbox'

6. Pick the Add Filter button



Hotmail

1. First, if you find email from us in your Hotmail junk folder, open the email and click

"Not Junk"

2. Next, check to see if the email address Selfgrowth.com Address is on your Blocked

Senders list. If you find “Selfgrowth.com Address” on your Hotmail blocked senders list,

select it and click on the "Remove" button.

3. Next, open your mailbox and click "Options" in the upper right hand corner

4. At the top of the page, click on the "Junk E-mail Protection" link

5. Next, click on "Safe List", which is down near the bottom

6. Copy and paste “Selfgrowth.com Address” where it says "Type an address or domain"

7. Click the "Add" button



How do I upgrade my personal account to a professional account?



A Professional Account offers you the ability to submit links, articles, events and an

expert page promoting yourself and your business to Selfgrowth.com.



Login with your personal account and look for the tab "upgrade account." Next you

should see a blue box with the words "Upgrade to Professional" - click and you will be

upgraded. This is completely free.



How can I find my Bonus Items?

Once you activate your Selfgrowth.com account, login and click on this link:

I get an "Access Denied" message every time I try to log on to SelfGrowth.com. How can

I fix this?



This error is most likely caused by your firewall settings. If your firewall/anti-spam/anti-

virus software is set at its most stringent level, and set not to accept any cookies from

sites, you will get an "Access Denied" message when attempting to log in to

SelfGrowth.com. If you re-adjust your settings to accept cookies, you'll be able to log in.



What is SelfGrowthMarketing.com?



SelfGrowthMarketing.com is the coaching and training arm of SelfGrowth.com. It is the

website where we house all of our training programs. There is a cost to be a member of

If you wish to no longer receive one our newsletters, please make sure to click on the

unsubscribe link at the bottom of the e-mail. If you still receive newsletters after

unsubscribing, please send an email to Sam@selfgrowth.com.



I received a spam message from someone using the Selfgrowth.com message system.

What do I do?



Please report this person! We have zero tolerance for this and will ban the user that

spammed you.



What does "Pending" mean?



When something that you submitted is "pending" that means that we have yet to approve

or deny it yet. Please hold tight! We did not forget about you. We get a lot of submissions

a day and read ever single one.

Articles Questions





How do I submit articles?



1) Log in to SelfGrowth.com with your professional account by going to

http://www.selfgrowth.com/user

2) If you forgot your password, go to http://www.selfgrowth.com/user/password or create

an account by going to http://www.selfgrowth.com/user/register

3) After you login, Click on the yellow "Articles" tab.

4) This will bring up a page with our articles guidelines. If you accept the terms, click on

"Click here" to begin.

5) Fill in all of the relevant fields. When you're finished, press "preview" to see how the

article will look on our site (note: this is especially important if you are

copying and pasting from a Word document, to ensure that it will format correctly).

6) You may submit your article in up to three categories on our site -- triple the coverage

it will receive!

7) We also recommend that articles are between 500-1500 words in length.

8) Press "submit" when you're finished. This sends the article to our editors. Articles are

usually reviewed within 1-3 days of being submitted.



Please do not e-mail us asking where your article is. If we like your article, it will be

approved. In the article section you can click on "view my articles" and check on the

status. If it does not appear - it means it has either been rejected or deleted. If that is the

case, we suggest taking a look over your article, revise and then resubmit.



I've selected a topic category and a topic in the drop-down menus, but when I try to

submit the article, it gives me an error message and says I haven't selected a topic.



Be sure to press the "add" button next to the topic. You can add up to three topics.



Will my articles published on SelfGrowth.com be automatically linked to my

SelfGrowth.com expert page?



You can link your article to your expert page by clicking the "Post article directly on my

Expert Page" check box when editing/submitting the article.



How can I edit an article previously submitted to SelfGrowth.com?



You can now find anything you need on our new and improved dashboard. Once you

login to Selfgrowth.com, you will see under Current Information a link to Articles

Approved, click. You should now see a list of your articles along with a little edit link

next to the title.



Note: If you have an article on SelfGrowth.com but don't see it when you log in and go to

"View My Articles," it's likely it is associated with a different email address. Fill out our

feedback form at http://www.selfgrowth.com/feedback.html and send the article link.

How long does it take for articles to be approved, and how will know whether mine has

been approved or not?



Articles usually take 1-3 days to be approved, rejected, or completely deleted. You do get

a confirmation once we receive it and once we either approve or reject it. You will not

receive an e-mail if the article was not accepted. If your article was indeed deleted, there

is no way for the webmaster to find out why it was. The best thing to do is resubmit after

reading the guidelines. You can also send in a feedback form and state that you submitted

an article that has been rejected. The webmaster will take a look at the article and give

you pointers if something is indeed wrong.



The system doesn't send out a notice if your article was deleted. Thus, if it's been several

days and you haven't heard anything, and the article no longer appears in your "View My

Articles" queue - sorry!

You can find your articles by logging in. Your immediately taken to the dashboard with

all your current information. The third box (current information) will show all the articles

that you have approved. Click on articles approved and you will be taken to your list of

articles. You can also edit or delete articles on this page.



If your article has not been approved or sent back to you to fix, it means it has been

denied from being posted on the website. Take a better look at our article submission

terms here, http://www.selfgrowth.com/submit_articles. We suggest that you resubmit

your article after the appropriate changes are made.

Links Questions

What is a reciprocal link? How do I make a reciprocal link to your website?



A reciprocal link simply means that you will place a link to SelfGrowth.com on your

website, and in return, your link will receive higher placement in our links directories. To

I made a mistake on my link. How can I edit it?



Once a link has been approved, you can edit it at any time by logging in, clicking on

Websites under the Current Information list. Once your website is listed click on "Edit

your Entry." Note: This will only be available once the link has been approved. If your

link show "not approved" status, this option won't show. You can always resubmit the

link correctly again as well.



I got an autoreply with my link listing it as "not approved?" Does this mean it has been

rejected?



No, it doesn't. The "not approved" message is actually our system's way of indicating that

your link has been submitted for approval but has yet to be reviewed.



I submitted my link but can't find it on your website. Where can I find it?



Check the "websites" link under the relevant topic category at

http://www.selfgrowth.com/topics.html. There may be multiple pages of links, so you

may have to scroll through several pages to find your link.

Expert Page / Social Networking Questions





How can I change the topic of my Expert Page?



If you would like your expert page to listed under a different topic please e-mail

Laura@selfgrowth.com with the link to your page and the new topic.



How do I create an Expert Page?



SelfGrowth.com provides the capability for experts in the topic areas we cover to build

personal Expert Pages. You can use your Expert Page to promote yourself, your business

and your philosophy about Self Improvement.



The first step in building your Expert Page is to send in a request to our editors. If

approved, you will then be able to add your biography, picture, links, products, and more

to your Expert Page.



1) Login with your professional Selfgrowth.com account

2) In the "Member Center" look for the tab "Create Expert Page"

3) Choose your topic and tell us why you feel you are a expert in this area

4) Once submitted, your request will be reviewed (1-2 business days)

5) Once approved (you will receive e-mail) - login with your professional account

6) The tab should now say "Edit Expert Page"

7) Add all your information/picture/links etc

8) Make sure to click "save" at the bottom of each page before moving onto another

section



I'm unable to post text in one of the fields in the expert page editor.



This is a bug we've commonly seen crop up for Mac users using the Safari browser. We

would suggest downloading Firefox (www.mozilla.com). It may also occur if your anti-

virus program is set at too stringent a setting.



How do I upload my photo to my expert page?



Step 1 - Login to SelfGrowth.com - http://www.selfgrowth.com/user

Step 2 - Go to the "Edit My Expert Page" tab

Step 3 - In the first section, ("Full Name") look half-way down the page for the picture

section. Press the "Browse" button to find the file on your computer, "Upload" to upload

the photo, and be sure to press "Submit" when you're finished to update your page.



Can I be listed under multiple topics?



You can only be listed under one topic at this time. You can however submit articles and

websites under multiple topics.



Looking at my expert page, I don't see the "Add to Your Experts Network" or "Contact

the Expert" buttons that I see on other people's pages, even though I have all my

networking options enabled. What's the problem?



Don't worry - these links will appear for any other expert viewing your page (and you can

see them yourself if you log out). They just won't appear when you're logged in as

yourself, as you have no need to contact yourself.



Can I send messages to all of my contacts at once?



No. All messages must be sent one-by-one.



I see a bunch of computer-code gobbledygook on my expert page and can't get rid of it.

What can I do?



This commonly happens when you cut-and-paste text from a website, into Word or a

similar program, and into the expert page editor. The programs "remember" the code and

try to stick it in your expert page.

The best thing to do is to open Notepad, paste the text there, and save it as a plain text file

(.txt). Now, open the expert page editor. Delete everything in the field giving you a a

problem (press ctrl-a to select it all, then "delete" to delete it). Then, paste in the plain

text from Notepad.



I received a notification that a SelfGrowth.com member sent me a message. What do I

do?



A SelfGrowth.com account user sent you a message to your account. This is just a

notification. DO NOT REPLY BACK TO THE E-MAIL FROM SELFGROWTH.COM.



What do you do?



- Login (automatically taken to your account information/dashboard)

- Click on "messages" on the right side



This messaging system is a great way to connect with other SelfGrowth.com members.

User Points Questions





What is my featured website? How do I choose it?



On the "Most Active Users" page, each listing can show a featured website that the user

has selected, driving traffic to the site of their choice. You can choose that website by

clicking the "Edit Account Info" tab and filling the url in the "Favorite Website" section.



How is the day/week calculated?



The system resets the count every day at midnight, Eastern Standard Time, and resets the

weekly count every Monday. Thus, the count is not for the past 24 hours or past 7 days

instead, it's based on fixed times and dates.



I just submitted my article/website/event, but I didn't get my user points yet. When will

these points show in my account?



Userpoints are given once a piece of content (articles, websites and events) has been

published by an editor. Thus, content that is submitted but rejected (or, just content that

hasn't been approved yet) will not result in user points being given.



How do I get points for "Bringing in a New Member"?



Click on the “My Network” tab in the member center. Look for the link that says

“Invite New Experts into Network.” Use our invite feature and enter the email

addresses of those you'd like to invite. For each person who signs up, you'll get 20 user

points.

I never got my 50 points for my expert page! How do I get those points now?



The new user point system launched on June 28th, and only actions that are performed

after June 28th, 2009 can receive user points. Therefore, if you have an expert page you

built months ago or articles from years back, there's no way to get fresh user points for

these items.

Newsletter / Advertising Questions





How can I get my articles to appear in one of the Selfgrowth.com Newsletters?



We are very particular about what we put in our popular newsletter. If you feel your

article should be in one – please contact Sam@selfgrowth.com with the link to your

article on Selfgrowth.com. Articles need to be between 650-1200 words with a complete

biography of the author.



Please be aware that Selfgrowth.com approves everything first before it appears on our

website. It may take a few days before your article, website, and or event is published.

We ask that you please be patient.
