Instructions
Overview: This is a template to assist with the definition and communication of the Requirements Work Plan (RWP). Planning
critical element toward ensuring project success. Without accurate planning, the work effort for any project cannot be adequate
estimated.
The RWP is used to define the overall Business Analysis approach, with the Business Analysis tasks, resources, and estimated
necessary to complete a body of work. The RWP is input to the Project Manager's project schedule, and provides the necessar

Description
Any item that must be produced to complete a project or part of a project. Deliverables may be subject to
approval by project stakeholders and key contributors.
The Idx of task(s) that must be completed, in order for the task to be completed/executed. (Ex: The
modeling session preparation must be completed, before the session can take place)
Unique numbering for each task.
Summary task to group a set of related detailed tasks. Project Manager may prefer to track progress
against summary tasks.
Detailed tasks necessary to accomplish a milestone or deliverable. Project Manager may prefer to track
progress against detailed tasks.
Include any comments that might be helpful in understanding the intent or assumptions for the task.
Comma delimited list of the BA resources that will be involved in the task
Total number of BA hours necessary to complete the task. The hours that Business owners, end users,
and other resources will dedicate to the task are NOT included.
Expressed as a percentage on a task-by-task basis. The estimated percentage of the total Est Group
Hrs that each assigned BA resource will dedicate to the task. It is understood that these allocations may
change, and so should be estimated based on the current understanding of estimated allocations to
Individuals that actively contribute to the requirement definition and refinement process.
Key contributors provide, review, and contribute to project work products and deliverables. Stakeholders
are individuals, groups, or organizations that are affected by or have influence over the project’s outcome.
Key contributors are not, by definition, also stakeholders although some individuals may perform both
functions for a project. When identifying key contributors, it is important to ensure representation from
user classes/perspectives that are impacted by the project.
