Please provide a brief overview of your experience in the area of embedded software
development and include your number of combined years of experience.
Jan, 2009 – Mar, 2010 Working in Lenovo Mobile(Xiamen, China) developing CDMA2000/WCDMA
on BREW platform from QUALCOMM. Mainy in charge of three areas, backup-manager which is a
client side implementing SYNCML protocol to synchronize address books from phone to SYNCML server
by implementing HTTP/SYNCML protocol at TCP-SOCKET level, database kernel which integrate
SQLITE into system by wrapping API and supply a notification mechanism to application, main menu
which involves various special 2D visual effects of icons to achieve visual effects like what is in
iphone/Gphone etc.
Mar, 2008—Dec, 2008 Working in Datawind Research Inc.(Montreal, Canada) developing Mobile
Internet Device(MID), maintain/develop server system which supply web browsing service to MID by
compressing web image into images through GPRS network. Also maintain/develop
driver/installation/utility program for series of mobile office equipments such as scanner, printers etc.
Combined years is two to three years.
Do you have any experience with C/C++ software development? If so, please briefly
describe your experience in this area and your number of combined years of experience.
During all periods, are working with C/C++ programming even since 2006 when doing research
project in Concordia University(Montreal, Canada) for computer graphics at huge cluster servers which
including 180 powerful computing nodes.
Combined years is more than five years.
Please provide a specific example of a complex issue you have had to resolve within a
compressed data environment (i.e. connectivity, compressing code).
During working in Datawind( http://www.datawind.com ), I am handling various data
compression methods from ZIP,JPEG,RAR, flash etc. This is because the essential technology of this
company depends on compressing web page into compressed image to save bandwidth on GPRS
network to MID. At that time, I was concentrated on how to choose achieve best compression rate,
speed, and visual effect given various size, sorts of input images. Also, in the MID, the JPEG

decompress code must use minimum of memory and therefore the standard JPEG lib must be modified
with reduced buffer size.
Do you have any experience in debugging? If so, please briefly describe your
experience in this area.
I have been debugging code in various difficult environments. During research in University,
working in cluster of parallel-computing, multi-thread environment. During working in Datawind,
debugging drivers for mobile devices, debugging on remote server. During working in Lenovo Mobile,
debugging on mobile phone and its simulator.
Do you have any experience with Adobe Flash? If so, please briefly describe your
experience in this area and your number of combined years of experience.
During working in Datawind, the company asks to supply user with limited image frames of flash
on web page to MID. So, basically I need to detect the location and changing of flash image on
webpage and grab some snapshots.
The combined years is one to two years.
This role is located in Waterloo, ON. Are you able to commute daily to the office? If

Why have you left your previous employers and why would you like to leave your

My Chinese visa expired and the project finished. So, I have to come back to Canada. Currently I
am not employed.
