WHAT WILL I BE COMMITTING TO DO?
Training and personal development of the staff is vital to the continued success of Cedar Badge. Full
staff and unit meetings are used to train; to learn and practice your presentation skills; to develop your
leadership skills; to learn youth protection, and safety and have fun as you come together as a team.
Therefore, we ask the 2012 Cedar Badge Staff to commit to the following:
To recruit at least Three (3) participants.
Attend all full staff meetings. The approximate dates are as follows:
o Jan 2012, a Saturday to be determined by your Course.
o March 2012, a Saturday to be determined by your Course.
o May 2012, a Saturday (Possibly a Friday night/Saturday campout) to be determined by your
course.
o Train the Trainer (which is a one day training) needs to be attended – Dates will be determined –
This training needs to be completed every two years.
Attend unit staff-development meetings with your Troop/Team/Crew as needed. They will likely be in
January, February and April. However, specific dates will be determined by your unit.
Pay a Staff Fee (last year it was $60 – 2012 price to be determined). The fee covers food, T-shirt,
patches, staff manual and Beret for first year staffers.
Wear complete Class “A” uniform (shirt, pants/shorts, socks, and neckerchief) to all Staff Meetings,
Cedar Badge, and other appropriate dates.
To stay in camp the full week, including staying after graduation to help put away gear and clean the
camp. Please do not plan to leave before the camp is clean and has passed inspection.
To do a thorough and complete job of preparing your presentations and to present them to the best of
your ability to ensure the Cedar Badge participants learn as much as they can from the leadership skills
presented.
Being on Cedar Badge Staff is one of the most rewarding opportunities a person can have. Our staff
experiences personal growth and a love for their fellowman that is very hard to explain, but it is amazing to
experience and to accomplish.
The Cedar Badge Mission is to: Guide and Inspire Individual Potential Towards Greatness. Our staffers
can yell with pride CAN DO – WILL DO – HAVE DONE, because they have the ability to BE – KNOW –
DO.
