Funny Books for Read Aloud
Mo Willems books
David Shannon books
The Down, Girl and Sit books by Lucy Nolan are definitely LOL! Also
try Alligator Baby by Robert Munsch and Birdbrain Amos by Michael
Delaney.
My 3rd and 4th graders really like Please Write in This Book by Mary
Amato.
A picture book that they like is Do Unto Otters: A Book About Manners by
Laurie Keller
Mind Your Manners, B.B. Wolf is a lot of fun to read aloud - lots of
characters from other stories are in it, too.
Spud Murphy by Eion Colfer is a hoot!
My kids laugh at the Pigeon books, Substitute Teacher Plans, No David,
Porcupining, A Prickly Love Story ( sing with a horrible porcupine
voice), Skippy Jon Jones series, the Christmas version of the Marley
book (the name escapes me, possibly Marley's first Christmas), Good Boy
Fergus, New Socks, Too Many Toys
Marley goes to school has just been released
The "Skippyjon Jones" series is a big hit. The cd's that accompany it,
read by the author, are great fun.
Any scaredy squirrel story by Melanie Watts and they love Who Is Melvil
Bubble? by Nick Bruel.
My k-2 students also enjoy Chickens to the Rescue by John Himmelman
