Electric Motors
The electric motor is a helpful modern invention. People can use the electric motor in
vehicles such as electric train and trolley buses and in appliances such as food mixers,
vacuum cleaners, record players, sewing machines and electric razors.
The electric motor has some advantages. It is efficient. It is simple. It is quite silent. It can
start, speed up, slow down and stop easily.
It has one great disadvantage. It cannot work without electricity. Therefore, we cannot use it
for cars or motorcycles because they cannot follow a definite path.
