and the love is free
mu m - a life with recipes
BY JULES CLANCY
publishing 29June2009
RRP $29.95
After June Clancy died suddenly in August 2007, her eldest daughter Jules decided to pull
together a collection of her Mum’s recipes. With the help of her sisters she tested and photo-
graphed all the classic family dishes that she had grown up with.
The results were just too good to keep to herself. So Jules decided to self publish the book
and share this one stop collection of simple, delicious family meals. Seeing this as an opportu-
nity to pass on the family recipes of an amazing mum and cook.
A celebration of a beautiful life, ‘and the love is free’ is the personal story of June Clancy -
Gunning Citizen of the Year in 2007. Each recipe is brought to life with individual stories. It is
a collection of classic family recipes presented in a modern and attractive way. All the writ-
ing, design and photography has been created by the author.
‘And the love is free’ is available for sale exclusively through the author’s blog www.thestone-
soup.com. It will also be available to purchase at an afternoon tea book launch on Saturday
27th June 2009 from 3.30pm - 5.30pm at the Merino Cafe in Gunning. All welcome.
Jules Clancy is the girl behind the food blog stonesoup and is currently employed as a choco-
late biscuit designer for Arnotts. She has degrees in both food science and winemaking. Jules
grew up on a sheep farm near Gunning but now lives in Sydney. When she’s not cooking,
writing about food or taking photographs of food she can be found indulging her passions for
running, travel, cheese, long boozy lunches and red shoes. This is her first book and she really
hopes it won’t be her last.
