Children's Commissioner
Advocacy Training
The Children's Commissioner offers a Child Rights Advocacy Training programme to
communities throughout NZ. The programme is organised and facilitated by trained and
experienced staff from the Office of the Children's Commissioner. The workshop
discusses children’s position in society and the need for advocacy. It promotes knowledge
and interest in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCROC) and
its use when advocating for a child. The overall intention is to share advocacy skills and to
inform how they can be applied to your current work. The training is designed to be
inclusive of the diverse range of people who undertake paid and unpaid work involving
