The Buddy Pelletier Surfing Foundation conducts an Outreach Surf Clinic in conjunction
with The Boys and Girls Club which is sponsored by Action Surf Shop. Each year we work
to ensure that the groms know about water safety, surf etiquette, and how to have a great
time while out in the line-up. Held at Fort Macon State Park, we start with information
about basic water safety, and then start taking the kids out into the line-up. With over 50
volunteer instructors, the kids get lots of close attention and tons of "water-time". With a
lunch provided in the Picnic Area and an event T-Shirt to take home, the kids have a pretty
full day. The BPSF must once again say a special note of thanks to Action Surf Shop, the
ESA/CNC and other members of our surfing community for volunteering their time. I
honestly believe they have as much fun as the kids!
