In lieu of things like paying parking tickets, I tried to be a good citizen this morning and voted.
One problem I have with voting is that I have absolutely no business voting, especially for things
like District 5 circuit appellate judge. I also skipped the entire proposition section. Does voting
YES actually means that yes, I'm in favor of that idea, or YES, I am not. It's all very confusing.
I think they should make voting like going to the car wash. Gold package - you vote for just
governor and get free drinks. Silver package – you vote for governor, senators and congress and
there’s a two-drink minimum. Bronze package – you have to look through every damn thing on
the ballot and get a free ―I Voted‖ sticker.
Fantasy football is akin to politics: Who are the guys you can count on and who are the guys that
can get you ahead?
So in keeping with the theme, here are the 2006 KFL mid-term candidates:
BYRON LEFTWICH or DAVID GARRARD: Leftwich is regarded as the future,
but they haven't let Garrard go yet - and he’s played valiantly. ELECTED: David Garrard.
He’s shown an ability to lead this team and an ability to stay healthy. According to Del Rio,
Leftwich won’t be fully 100% until next season.
TRENT GREEN or DAMON HUARD: Huard has taken over without much of a
hiccup...even winning a player of the week award. But Green is the man, and he’s almost ready
to go. ELECTED: Trent Green. Coach Herm Edwards has stated that Green will take
over the QB job when he's cleared to play. I believe him, but think he should go with the hot hand.
LAURENCE MARONEY or COREY DILLON: Maroney has become the
workhorse....but Dillon gets the goalline touches. ELECTED: Corey Dillon. He has 6
TDs to Maroney's 3. And if you take out Maroney's huge game in Cincinnati he’d only have 1.
Obviously, Maroney will be the homie for next year and beyond.
JOSEPH ADDAI or DOMANIC RHODES: Rhodes is the experienced vet....and
Addai is the Edgerrin James clone, and their stats are pretty similar. ELECTED: Joseph
Addai. He's led the team in rushing in each of the past three weeks. It's Addai's team now.
MARK BRUNELL or JASON CAMPBELL: The oldman against the young
whipper snapper. ELECTED: Jason Campbell. The key is deciding when the transition begins.
Had they lost to Dallas, Campbell would probably be starting this week.
THOMAS JONES or CEDRIC BENSON: One of the best running back battles in
the NFL. Benson has all the tools, but not the maturity…Jones has done nothing to lose the job.
ELECTED: Thomas Jones. The Bears are aiming for the Super Bowl, so Jones will be
the featured back. The can trust him and he delivers.

Councilman Bob
Caption: Abuse of power
LA CRESCENTA, CA — Voters of the Crescenta Valley cast their ballots to elect Steve Pierce,
Curtis Cleven and Bruce Campbell as Town Council members on Saturday, Nov. 4th.
Pierce took the lead with 304 votes and Cleven followed with nearly half that amount at 149.
Campbell took a seat with 136.
However, just days later, Councilman Pierce has been arrested on 24 felony counts issued by the
District Attorney’s Office.
The arrest took place this morning at Pierce’s home after a two-day investigation into allegations
of ―misappropriation of public funds‖ which apparently were spent on fantasy football transactions.
Pierce has denied any wrongdoing, and has said the money had been stolen. He is being held in
lieu of $25,000 bail at a detention center in Glendale.
(Just kidding, congratulations Steve!)
