The Adelaide Eisteddfod Council advises that all entries accompanied

by the correct fees should be in the hands of the Secretary no later

than the advertised closing date. Late entries and entries that have

become lost will not be accepted. It is the responsibility of each

entrant to ensure that each entry form arrives safely at the address on

the entry form (using registered mail or delivering to 239 Magill

Road, Maylands, is suggested). Cash should not be sent in the post –

this is unlawful (see Rule No. 4 on page 11).

Competitors and others interested in the Vocal Division may notice

there are fewer sections than in recent previous years. This is due to

the difficulty of finding a Convenor or two Co-convenors to run this

division. It is hoped that this situation can be rectified in time for the

following year’s competitions, in order to avoid the cancellation of the

Vocal Division in 2012.

Competitors, teachers and parents are advised to read the Rules &

Conditions carefully.

In addition, competitors in the Vocal Division should note the following:

1. They may not compete in more than ONE voice range.

2. If competitors wish to ensure eligibilty of their choice of items, they

should forward a list to the Secretary before June 30, 2011.

3. A legible copy of the music to be performed must be provided for the

adjudicator and collected at the conclusion of the section. (See Rule 23

re photocopied material.)

4. It is expected that all competitors will provide an original copy of the

music to be performed. Where a photocopy is being used it is the

responsibility of the competitor to ensure that the copy has been

obtained legally and that a completed Form No.1 “Performer’s

Declaration Form for Eisteddfods and Music Competitions” is

presented when booking in for competition.

5. Forms may be obtained from teachers, convenors and at the venue.

6. When a competitor is singing in a language other than English,

he/she must give a BRIEF translation to the audience. A LITERAL

TRANSLATION OF EVERY WORD IS NOT REQUIRED.

7.Competitors are not to communicate with the adjudicator until after

having finished competing in all sections entered.
