Carlos KuCeja
On Sunday, February 1, 2009 the Super Bowl was played. The game was
played between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals. They played
in Tampa Bay, Florida. The Pittsburgh Steelers won the Super Bowl by
four points (27-23). They scored their last few points in the last few
seconds of the game. They're the first team to win six Super Bowl
titles.
The Pittsburgh Steelers know all about the Super Bowl. The team has
made six previous appearances in the Super Bowl. The Arizona Cardinals
are new to the big stage. But they've won three playoffs games to reach Tampa
Bay.
The Steelers were founded in 1933 and are the fifth oldest team in the
NFL. During World War II, members of the Steelers and the Philadelphia Eagles
merged together because some of the players from both teams went to fight in
the war. While the war was being fought, neither team had enough players to
play.
The Cardinals were founded in 1898. They hold the title of being the
oldest team in the NFL.
