Toon Doo Instructions

Note: Remind students this is a CLASS account-not to be used at home for personal cartoons.

SETTING UP A CLASS ACCOUNT on TOON DOO*

*Note: Your tech coach can set up an account for you or you might already have an account from a previous year---check first!

1. Go to the toon doo web site http://www.toondoo.com/

2. Click Register

3. Use your school initials and your STI

homeroom number for your username and

password (because that is how the video

tutorials show students to log in)

Use your school e-mail address

(click REGISTER)

LOGGING IN AS A STUDENT

4. Students will log in using their school initials

and homeroom code-all lower case and no

spaces (if that is how you set it up). The

password is the same-school initials and

homeroom code-no spaces.

5. Students click SIGN-IN

YOUR school initials

and homeroom #

here!

6. They should see themselves signed in up in

the upper right corner.

7. Remind students NOT TO BROWSE the

other cartoons---you never know what

could be out there. Have them click

TOONDOO MAKER in the upper right and

get started creating!

8. It will start loading. If it does not start

loading, a message window may pop up. If

so, have students look for a light yellow bar

at the top of the screen. Have them right

click it and then click Always Allow Pop ups

from this site.

9. Students select a layout for the cartoon.

10. When students are ready to save, click the

TOON DOO in the upper LEFT corner and

choose SAVE.

11. Students should give it a title. In this

example, they were using the vocabulary

word for the title and by: their name.

Tags are important. Should use the school initials

and homeroom number with NO Spaces between

for first tag and first name and maybe vocab or the

topic for an additional tag. This will make them

easier to find.

Keep it private if they are not finished.

Publish to the world if they are finished.

Either choice, students still click PUBLISH.

12. Close the cartoon
