ARMA International (formerly the Association of Records Managers and Administrators) was established in 1955. It is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of records and information management (RIM). Records and information management is the systematic control over the creation, use, maintenance, retention, protection, preservation, or destruction of all types of records, both active and inactive. ARMA, its chapters, and its members are dedicated to helping individuals, organizations, and government agencies successfully meet the challenges of the increasingly complex records & information field. The Western Colorado Chapter’s mission is to provide educational opportunities, resources, & networking events to support the professional development of RIM practitioners and professionals in Western Colorado. Doug Allen, CRM, CDIA+ is the President of ARMA International, and works as the Regional Sales Manager for Tyler Technologies Incode Division. Formerly, Doug was the Business Development Manager for Information Outsource Services for Global 360’s Work Management Group. He is a 35 year industry veteran and a 33 year veteran of ARMA International. Doug writes about issues pertaining to Records and Information Management on his blog (www.rimthought.com) and maintains certifications as a Certified Records Manager (CRM), and Certified Document Imaging Architect (CDIA+). He served previously on the ARMA International Board between 1991 and 1995 and has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of AIIM (the Association for Information and Image Management). We are deeply honored to have Doug as keynote speaker; please help us welcome him to Western Colorado!
