Notes for (---) LARSON Marie
Marie was a volunteer with the Homemakers Home Health Aides group.

    Per (Florence) Joanne Larson:
Eight children were born to Arthur and Mary Larson. First four children were born in Philadelphia. Address was
somewhere on the 4000 block of Market Street. Patricia, Charles, and maybe Eleanore were born in Bristal, PA.
Address was 1528 Trenton Ave, Bristol. Dorothy, maybe Eleanore were born at 642 Spruce Street.

While in Bristol the 3 oldest children went to St. marks School.

On September 6, 1929 all children were removed from 642 Spruce Street and were dispersed as follows:
Joe, Arthur and Charles to St. Johns Orphanage (maybe 1600 block of W. Allegheny Ave, Philadelphia). Mary, Joanne
and Pat were sent to 2901 W. Allegheny Ave, Philadelphia. This was CHDC or Catholic home for Destitute Children.
Dorthy and Eleanore went to a foster home.

Mary Cambell Larson visited her children on sundays at the orphanages and foster homes. Arthur Larson visited
them a few times. The last time was on Easter Sunday, 1930. He brought Easter baskets and Mary and Arthur had a
lengthy conversation. He never went to visit the children again.

Sometime after 1929 Arhur left Bristol Pa with a woman named Mrs. Trout who had a husband and home in Bristol
Pa.

After graduating 8th grade at CHDC, mary went to St. Margarita in Holmesberg, Pa. After that she worked for Mr.
and Mrs. Binne (Binns?) in Philadelphia and also attended Pierce College at night. Completed a course in Book-keeping.
Some time later she worked in a Philadelphia suburb (Cynwyd or Bala Cynwyd or Marberth) for a family named
Calloway. She had a good friend there named Trish who married Bill Wallace, a jeweler and lived in Conshohocken.

Mary married Frank Opelski and had four children.

Per letter from (Florance) Joanne Larson:
Arthur was born in NY Harbor on Swedish boat. Had sister named Margueritte. They became separated. He tried hard
to relocate her. Served in US Marine corp. He was employed by Pennsylvania Railroad as a brake man and was run
over by by a train and lost his left leg around Sept. 1920. JoAnne heard later that he worked as a detective for Judson C.
Burns in Detroit, Michigan. JoAnne never heard anything about his parents.

somewhere on the 4000 block of Market Street.

On September 6, 1929 all children were removed from 642 Spruce Street and were dispersed as follows:

and Pat were sent to 2901 W.

Sometime after 1929 he left Bristol Pa with a woman named Mrs. Trout who had a husband and home in Bristol Pa.

Born in Marmal, Londonderry County, Irelean on May 20, 1887. (Question on birthdate of either May 4, 1886 or

age 12 of Tuberculosis. Several other siblings died at birth or early childhood.

Her family owned a large farm in Ireland. Her mother was Mary? Darraugh Cambell and she passed away in early
part of 1923. She died in bed while brushing her hair. Her father was Patrick Cambell, a farmer. Mary did not return
to Ireland to claim the farm although she was the sole heir.

Mary passed away in February 1962 in Miscrcardia? Hospital in Philadelphia of heart problems and was burried in
Calvary Cemetary, Conshocken, PA.

Went by "Shultz" to get a job at a German company. Because his wife spoke German, he was able to pull this off.
Whole family went as Shultz. Son Steve died as a Shultz. Not sure how long other family members retained the name.

Lived in King of Prussia, PA near Martin's Dam. Went to a one room school house.

Gravestone in St. Benedic's Polish Cemetary in Conshocken also lists Agnes Opielski, Mary Bartosiewicz, and

"Sunswald", Northern Poland. Born in Russia. (Was Russia and Poland at differents.)

Worked in some sort of forestry business in Poland. (?)

First wife, Mary Jankowski, died when daughter Valeria was 6 years old. Her family blamed Ludwig for her death,
saying he did not take good care of her. He left Poland to go to America shortly thereafter, apparently because of this.
Daughter Valeria was about 14 years old. In America, he met second wife, Carolina Andraka, with whom he had two
