As part of your RCN membership, the RCN is pleased to offer you a free half-hour consultation for any non work-related problem which needs legal advice. For example, advice on housing problems, inheritance, problems with child support agencies and defamation. This service is in addition to legal advice on work-related issues which the RCN offers its members. The consultation can take place over the telephone or by you visiting the solicitor at your expense. Following your free half-hour consultation, the solicitor will provide a written statement of further legal costs or complete an application to the Community Legal Service Fund (formerly civil legal aid) on your behalf. Note: If you need legal assistance for a workrelated matter please contact your local RCN office. The address is in your RCN members’ handbook.
