Pot with two handles – Marginea
The black pottery pot is made by hand from fine pasta of sand. After modeling,
the pot is burned in a stove with two openings. Only at the end, after being
cooled, the decorations are made by polishing with river stones. The ornaments
are composed mainly of lines and spirals into a variety of stylistic variations of a
great artistic effect. It has two semicircular handles on two sides. It has a similar
form with an amphora and it is used for preserving liquids.It is great for
preserving milk and making sour cream and other products from milk.
Traditionally the black pottery is made in Marginea, a village from Northern
Moldavia (Bucovina).

CERAMICA NEAGRA DE MARGINEA
Vasul de ceramica neagra nesmaltuita este realizat manual, dintr-o pasta fina cu
nisip iar dupa modelare este ars intr-un cuptor cu doua guri. Abia la sfarsit, dupa
racere, sunt realizate decoratiunile prin slefuirea cu pietre de rau. Ornamentele
sunt compuse indeosebi din linii si spirale intr-o multitudine de variante stilistice
de un efect artistic deosebit. Are doua toarte semicirculare pe laterale.Vasul are
forma asemanatoare unei amfore si este utilizat pentru pastrarea lichidelor. Este
excellent pentru pastrarea laptelui, pentru a face smantana si alte produse din
lapte. In mod traditional, aceasta ceramica se face la Marginea, in nordul
Moldovei (Bucovina).
