Why we want to protect our
environment!
• The reason that we want to
protect our environment is that
we want to be able to educate
student about Suisun Marsh and
the environment.
• Is the Suisun Marsh healthy?
That is what this project is
about. So that we can see if it is
healthy.
• The way that images can
monitor the health of the Suisun
Marsh is that we can compare

images and see how it is
growing or how it is dying

Maps of change
• The first map is the Suisun
Marsh in 1850. The green on
the map is tidal wetlands. You
see that there was a lot of the
Suisun Marsh back then.
• The second map is the Suisun
Marsh in 1990. The red on the
map is urban extent. You see
that there is a lot of cities and
towns in the 1990, and there is
very little marshes left in the
area.
• So you can see that in the
passing years the marshes has

been deteriorating very fast.
Wetlands
• This is a picture of
large wetlands in the
Waikato Region. The
Waikato region is in
New Zealand.
• This picture shows
wetlands in the 1840s
and in 1995.
• You can see how much
of this large wetland
has been lost or slit
into small fragments.
After the trip
• Latitude of Bridge= 38 north
• Longitude of Bridge= 122 west
• Elevation of Bridge= -8 feet
• Latitude of Dock= 38 north
• Longitude of Dock= 122 west
• Elevation of Dock= -14 feet
• Latitude of Pond= 38 north

Conclusion
• Remember that we are doing this for our
students education.
• Also remember that the Suisun Marsh is
near Suisun so if you want to go remember
that it is not that far away.
• Also the Suisun Marsh as time goes on will
get smaller and smaller and soon if we don’t
take care of it soon it will be gone.
