Transcript of the video – How To Add Custom Tabs to Facebook Page, Part 1 of 2:
Part 2 (This is a continuation of the transcript for Part 1): Now we need to configure the app for the
custom Facebook Page. 1st click on Edit Settings on the right side of the app page. On the web page that
appears, select the Facebook Integration link. Scroll down on the form and in the Tab URL field, enter
the URL, or webpage address as some people call it, for the web page that you want Facebook to feed
into this custom tab. I’ve setup a page on my business website that I’ve designed to use for this custom
tab. Up at the top of my browser, you can see the URL for this web page. I right click and Copy this URL,
then go back to my Facebook app page and under Tab URL I click in that field, right click and Paste the
URL for my web page. Then click on the Save Changes button at the bottom of the app page.
Now, here we are on my Facebook Foremost Resumes page. We’ve setup the new custom tab app so we
expect to see that custom tab, Vi Resume Writer, over on the left side in the custom tabs area. Click on
More to see all 9 of the custom tabs. But the new custom tab doesn’t appear. Let’s find out why.
Return to the app page for the new custom tab. This new custom tab needs to be added to the Profile
Page for my business. On the right side select Application Profile Page. You are then taken to a profile
for the new custom tab app that you’ve created. On the left side, click on the Add to My Page link. This is
what you have to do to add the custom tab to your Facebook Page. In the Add Vi Resume Writer to your
Page window that appears, I click on the Add to Page button for my Foremost Resumes page then Close
that window. Now I return to my Foremost Resumes Facebook Page and refresh that page. I now see
the new Vi Resume Writer custom tab. When I click on that tab we see the web page that I designed for
this tab being fed directly into my Facebook Page.
You can change the order of your custom tabs. To move the Vi Resume Writer tab up on the list of
customized tabs. To do that I click on Edit at the bottom of my custom tabs. Now when I hover over my
customized tabs, the cursor burns into 4 arrows. That means I can move any of the custom tabs up or
down on the list of tabs. Now refresh the Facebook Page and you see the new custom tab moved up on
the list.
And that’s how you make a Facebook Custom Tab.
