New Jersey Renegades vs. the Long Island Royals at Aspen Ice in Flemington, NJ
Royals beat the Renegades 13-1
Renegades are now out of the MET league playoffs, while the Royals moved on
Game was fast-paced, with quick movement of the puck and hard working
Not much hitting
The Renegades were down 4-0 at the end of the first period
At the end of the first period they were still in the game, but had a difficult time
pulling things together
Renegades scored 12 minutes into the 2nd period
After the 7th goal the Renegades called a timeout
During the timeout they switched goalies

Game was very clean. 2 penalties
“I got them ready for the game but it didn’t show on the ice”
“They knew what was at stake; winning this game would put them [Renegades]
into the playoffs”
“Boys didn’t execute enough. Wasn’t a very physical match”

“After the first [period] they looked tired out. They went back onto the ice lagging
a bit but pushed through it”
“We made the goalie change after he let up the seventh goal. Cliff made the call
to do that. You gotta go with what works at the moment”
“After they [Royals] slipped in the 7th goal we needed to calm everyone down
“We don’t know what the season will be like next year but the offseason will start
now”

“I think we needed to work on our defensive coverage. They were on us the whole
time shot after shot. We didn’t support our goalie”
“It felt good to be on the ice when we got the goal”
“You get a good feeling when you step onto the ice and see the crowd there.

“Before each game we warm up outside. Then we listen to pump up music in the
lockerroom then right before coach comes in we get real quiet and serious.
Coaches come in and go over the game plan and things we need to work on.”
