New Gun, IR control for the microCeline - 060915
The Gun includes a
charger for one 30 mAh
Lipo batteries. About 40
Lipo recharges can be
obtained from fresh AA
batteries.
Four AA standard
batteries are required.
Operations
Normal transmit
Power the transmitter switch on, leaving the joystick in the center. You get a set of
flashes on the LED, and then a slow blinking. You can power the receiver plane and fly.
If you do not use the joystick for 2 minutes, a decrescendo will mean you should better
switch off to save the battery. The power is removed from the infrared leds anyway, so
the power consumption is significantly reduced. IR power is re-established for 2 minutes
as soon and everytime you move the joystick or the throttle.
You can power the receiver before the transmitter. In this case, the receiver send bursts
to the rudder and elevator until you power the transmitter or remove the Lipo.
If the receiver loose the IR stream, its LED is on continuously and the control status
does not change (unless the last received order was corrupted).
Beginner's mode
With the joystick pushed in front at power-
up, the throttle is limited to half the power
and the pitch is limited to a smaller torque
downwards. This allows easy flights while
getting familiar with the plane reactions.
Lipo recharge
The Lipo charger has its own electronics and indicator Led. The Led blinks rapidely if no
battery is inserted. Insert the Lipo inside the battery slot. The LED is continuously on
during charge. There is a small residue of continuous light when the battery is charged
(voltage above 4.17V). When the battery is not well discharged, it happen that the
charge does not starts, unless you switch off and on again the power.
The Gun microcontroller check the status of the charging process. If the battery is
inserted and there is no piloting, the IR transmissions will stop after two minutes, the led
will blink at a low frequency as long the Lipo is being charged. As soon charged, the
decrescendo every 10 second will warn you to switch off or put a new battery to be
cherged.
If you just want to charge, and be sure you do not transmit for 2 minutes, just power–on
with the joystick on the back, against you.
Special 2-user mode
The Gun and the receiver on the plane allows for two users flying simultaneously. This
requires a synchronization cable connected between the two Guns, a very standard
audio cable with two female jacks,
At power-up, if the joystick is fully right, you are considered as user #1 and the jack on
the side emits a synchronizing pulse for the slave.
If the joystick in on the left side at power-up, the soft is in user #2 mode and the
transmission occurs only if the synchronizing cable is connected to user #1.
User #1 switch on the transmitter and the receiver, so its receiver synchronize. Then it
switches it off while user #2 switch on the transmitter and the receiver, so the receiver
set-up a different synchronization. User #1 can then switch on again and the flights can
start.
Survey
4 possible modes at power-up 3 blinking speed
- center for normal mode - 1.5 Hz normal transmitting mode
- front for advanced mode - 0.5 Hz simulator mode
- right for user #1 - 0.2 Hz charging mode, no transmission
- left for user #2
- back for no transmission from the An alarm sound every 10 seconds means you
beginning should switch off or put another battery to be
loaded.
Flight simulator
When not in two-user mode, the Gun audio
jack plug transmits non-stop a nega tive PPM
signal identical to the one transmitted on most
RC radios hahing a trainig plug. Adapting bos
toward a PC are available, ask your RC store
or search on Google "flight simulator ppm
adapter" .
Several flight simulators are available, e.g.
