• Insert an Interactive text boxes (View, Toolbars,

• One property change is needed –DragBehavior

one on the Control Toolbar. You need the 8th
command down the list.
• When you have created the first box use copy
and paste to create identical ones.
• Resize them as necessary – hint turn the grid on
• More instructions on the next slide …..
PowerPoint Drag and Drop
• Copy the boxes and align them as required.
(copy a row at a time – CTRL/Click to select
multiple objects)
• Run the slide show to enter the definitions and
answers.
• (Optional) Use properties to lock each of the left
hand boxes (but not the middle or right hand
ones!) .I have not done this as I want to
encourage this slide to be used as a template
• Save everything and enjoy
PowerPoint Drag and Drop
• No reason why you couldn’t use ordinary
text boxes for the definitions column, but I
chose ITBs to make it an easier template.
Anyone can run the slideshow and change
the text quickly.
• Instead of Definitions we could use
pictures – just replace the ITBs with your
desired image (with sound embedded??).
Revealing the answers
• Insert ordinary text boxes (drawing toolbar) as a 4th
column.
• Format for colour, line (I created the first one and copied
it after fomatting).
• Group the column of text boxes (Select the column by
holding Shift and clicking on each one)
• Chose Custom Animation from the Slide Show menu.
• Select the grouped column and Click on Add Effect in
the Custom Animation pane
• Select Exit and choose an effect
• Remember that ordinary text boxes need editing in
design mode, interactive text boxes are more easily
edited during the slideshow presentation.
Avoiding an unwanted reveal!
• Clicking anywhere on the slide other than the
interactive text boxes will reveal the answers. To
restrict the reveal to a click at the bottom of the
screen requires a little more work. So the next
bit is optional ……….
Restricting the Reveal
• Insert a rectangle to cover the whole slide, leaving a
margin at the bottom, immediately under the columns,
• Format the rectangle fill to white, set transparency to
100% and remove the line
• Right click the rectangle and set Order - Send to Back
• Right click the rectangle and choose Action Settings. On
Mouse Click Hyperlink to Slide (whatever the number of
the current slide is).
• Add a text box at the bottom of the slide with a suitable
instruction to click here for the answers.
