Describe the nature of work that you would perform in this career.
On my current career path I will be doing a Systems Analyst job taking the place of my father
at the company TESSCO Technologies. This job’s main function is to create publishing
pieces using automation to pull together the efforts of my coworker’s descriptions of
products. The job is a constant effort to improve the look, quality, and speed of the tasks that
are given in which a large part involves making manual tasks automated.
What types of businesses and organizations typically hire people in your chosen career?
Generally a business that produces catalogs or pieces that advertise their product in a book or
pamphlet would be interested in my work.
What is the typical starting salary? What is the average and top salary?
At the company I am working for the starting salary would be around 60,000 to 70,000
dollars for the specialty position that I would be taking. CNN.com states that the majority of
people have a salary of 67,000 dollars up to 70,000 dollars for 75 percent of the population in
this field. Then the numbers rise from there all the way to 93,000. Currently I know for a
fact that is not the top number that can be achieved. According to my own findings a
computer analyst can make above 120,000 dollars in the company that I am currently doing
my internship efforts towards.

My Internship Plan:
My internship plan is going along smoothly currently. I am currently employed with TESSCO
Technologies during my breaks including winter break. I believe that this internship is an
immense opportunity that fell into my lap. I work in the Marcom (Marketing and
Communications) division with a focus on learning the processes of how the company’s major
guide, periodicals, and trade show pieces are developed.
