researchers. Was part of UED India team, Yahoo India is one of the biggest development team outside the US.
Interaction designer
I was instrumental in shaping/revamping the user experience strategies for products done out of
Yahoo India. Viz. Y! Briefcase, Y! Avatar. Also conceptualized couple of India specific projects along
with market innovation group.
Most products had resource, time crunch. Tweaking the process to understand the competitive
landscape, involve users, getting relevant insights, translate the findings into design improvements,
rapid prototype and iteration was imperative.
Users study, use cases, concept maps, scenarios, story boards. Competitive analysis, best practice
analysis
UI requirements Created the user interaction models, workflows,
collaborate with the US UED team
Also follow best practice guidelines, and Y! Brand guidelines was adhered to.

RELATED PROJECTS
Viewport - Alternate file manager for Windows (Software prototype) Dec 2003 - June 2004
In PCs today, with bigger harddisk and inter(a)net proliferation, we tend to store more and manage less, making scanning
and retrieval of stored data a nightmare. The project attempted to address today’s file management and other
frustrations with windows user experiences.
o The proposed visualization breaks away from the conventional recall based, folder tree file system to a
recognition based, zoom-able system; Allowing for a better controlled, quick, efficient means of
organizing and finding data.
o Visual cue and overlays highlighted usage patters and inter-relationships. Many components were built
to increasing productivity and reduce memory loads.
o Made a fully functional Flash mockup and tested, to prove its effectiveness in file management and
retrieval
Redesign of Department of Tourism India website (Web Template) June 2003 - Dec 2003
India has a variety of innumerable tourist destinations, but the official tourist webpage fails to impress and provide any
usable information and services to visitors.
o The attempt included identify usable content, simplify and building robust information architecture
for incremental growth.
o Designed “Plan your trip” an interactive tool to help plan your trip in India which makes best use of
existing information and booking infrastructure. You could then print the itinerary as a customized
brochure with maps, essentials, popular attractions etc on the selected cities.

o JODO - a Personal Media sharing device for dispersed families. Won Microsoft Research Award for
Best design process. Made presentation at MSFT Redmond. [June 2003]
